Jasmine Crockett's - and the Democrat Party's - Week Goes From Bad to Worse As More Receipts Get Dropped

Townhall Media

Like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been over the course of her time in office, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, stepping on rakes and digging deeper holes for herself and the Democrat Party, the latter of which is in the midst of a severe identity crisis after going down in defeat to Donald Trump in November 2024.

In one week, Crockett has called for violence against a sitting United States Senator (Texas Republican Ted Cruz) - saying he should be "knocked over the head." She also suggested that DOGE advisor Elon Musk needed to be "taken down" (which prompted a warning from DOJ Attorney Gen. Pam Bondi). She's also been accused of assaulting a reporter.

Then there were her despicable comments from a speech at a Human Rights Campaign fundraiser in Los Angeles Saturday where she referred to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who is paralyzed from the waist down and wheelchair-bound due to a 1984 accident, as "Gov. Hot Wheels."

In response to the massive backlash against her, Crockett proclaimed that the fact that Abbott was in a wheelchair did not cross her mind. Her excuse was that she was thinking of "the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by black mayors."

The problem with that unbelievable explanation is that Abbott's migrant bussing program didn't start until the spring of 2022. Crockett, on the other hand, was "liking" social media comments from 2021 that referred to Abbott as "Gov. Hot Wheels":

"Hot wheels something else," reads a June 2021 Facebook comment that Crockett "liked" on the platform. The comment was a reply to a Crockett post about Abbott.

That same month, Crockett reacted with a heart emoji to a comment that said, referring to Abbott, "When I say I sick of hot wheels....I am SICK OF HIM."

A month later in July 2021, Crockett reacted with a positive emoji to a commenter who urged her to "Keep making Gov Hot Wheels Mad."

All of this dovetails with a tweet I saw Tuesday, which I didn't initially think much of because people on Twitter/X say a lot of things, and you don't always know if it's true. But it sounds like it is:

GOP political strategist Scott Jennings quipped that Crockett should book herself "on TWICE as many cable shows as usual to clean this up. No, THREE TIMES. All the shows." If she's getting good advice, she won't do that, but clearly, she's not getting good advice from her handlers, judging by the way she continues to walk into traps of her own making.

So, yeah, keep doing your thing, Jasmine Crockett. We are so here for it.
