As RedState reported, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has found another less-than-ideal way to gain attention.
Speaking in front of the left-wing Human Rights Campaign on Saturday evening, the new de facto face of the Democratic Party called Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been in a wheelchair for decades, "Governor Hot Wheels." She also said he was a "hot *** mess" as part of her grammar-butchering speech, if you can even call it that.

As an aside, it should be noted that Crockett's entire "from the streets" personality was completely manufactured for political gain. She spoke far more eloquently when she was first running for office, and contrary to the perception of hardship she wants to create, she grew up wealthy. Crockett attended the most expensive private school in St. Louis before going to Rhodes College in Memphis. No part of her background dictates an inability to use basic grammar. It's all an act.
With that said, Crockett put out a statement on Tuesday attempting to explain why she made fun of a man in a wheelchair by calling him "Governor Hot Wheels." You see, she wasn't talking about him being a paraplegic. She was talking about "planes, trains, and automobiles."
I know, I know, but just roll with it.
CROCKETT: I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition—I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable.
Literally, the next line I said was that he was a “Hot A** Mess,” referencing his terrible policies. At no point did I mention or allude to his condition. So, I’m even more appalled that the very people who unequivocally support Trump—a man known for racially insensitive nicknames and mocking those with disabilities—are now outraged.
It's pretty disgusting for someone as incredibly privileged as Crockett to constantly hide behind "the most vulnerable" to excuse her bad behavior. Yes, I'm sure she meant airplanes when she used the term "Hot Wheels." You know, those things that fly in the air. Her explanation is so laughable that I'm wondering how long her staff took to come up with it. It couldn't have been more than a few hours.
I also love the claim that her saying Abbott is a "hot *** mess" is somehow clear evidence she was referencing his "terrible policies." The language used there indicates the opposite. She called him that, not his policies. But I guess if she says something with enough faux-conviction, we are just supposed to believe it.
Here's where things get worse for Crockett, though. As it turns out, this wasn't the first time she's insulted Abbott for being in a wheelchair.
There's more, though. Given that Crockett presents herself as deeply "urban" in a cultural sense, it seems relevant to cite the Urban Dictionary on what calling someone "Hot Wheels" means.
Sorry, but the idea that she was referencing illegal immigrants doesn't begin to pass muster. She was making fun of Abbott for being wheelchair bound, and it wasn't even the first time. Instead of just apologizing, Crockett is choosing to double-down, knowing that she is protected by an intersectional bubble that demands no accountability from her.
Lastly, I would like to address the congresswoman's claim that sending "migrants into communities with Black mayors" stoked "fear and division." Honestly, I'm a bit confused. Why would that be the case? Crockett should probably flesh that one out a bit more because it sounds awfully racist.
