Sen. Kennedy Hilariously Adds to the Schumer/Dems in Disarray Pile-On As Only He Can

As we've reported, there's nowhere Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) can go to catch a break these days, not with media-friendly news outlets, not in reliably blue cities, not among his colleagues, and not even at his own home.

Schumer is under fire from members of his own party, many of who are so incensed over his caving to Republicans and President Trump on the continuing resolution that they are calling for him to step down from his leadership position in the Senate. Some have even suggested a primary challenge for him in 2028, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-NY) name being floated as a possible contender.

The embattled Democrat made matters even worse for himself and Democrats when he went on "The View" Tuesday and proceeded to provide Republicans with the perfect 2026 midterms ad by mocking hard-working business owners who wanted to keep the money they earned rather than fork it over to the government.

Amid the media swarm for Schumer, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) shared his thoughts on Schumer's woes and how it had sent leaderless Democrats in the House and Senate into an absolute tailspin during an interview Wednesday night with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Here's what he had to say:

Sean, I don’t hate anybody, and that includes Sen. Schumer. He’s very smart. On the other hand, Chuck’s often wrong. He never makes the same mistake twice. He makes it five or six times just to be sure. But this time he got it right in supporting our efforts to keep government open.
Unless a football coach taught you history, you understand that shutting government down never achieves anything. It just scares people, especially the elderly. Having said that, many Democrats are angry at Schumer. Among them right now, we’ve all seen the news - he’s about as popular as chlamydia.
But that, to me, says as much about the Democratic Party as it does about Sen. Schumer. What it tells me is that the loon wing of the Democratic Party is firmly in control. Now, that’s great for the Republican Party, but it’s bad for America.

Kennedy went on to explain what he meant by "loon wing":

These people are deeply weird. For example, no honest person whose IQ is above his age doesn’t believe that biological sex doesn’t exist, but they do. That’s what I mean when I say they’re deeply weird. Our Republican secret plan for dealing with the Democrats is called Operation Let Them Speak...

We've talked often here about how one of the best defenses against Democrats - one of the most powerful weapons that can be used against them - is by using their own words against them.

The Trump campaign did a masterful job of using then-Vice President Kamala Harris' words against her in the 2024 presidential campaign, with her on-the-record remarks from her failed 2019 presidential campaign admitting she supported taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for incarcerated illegal immigrants proving to be devastating for her down the home stretch.

While Schumer is providing some useful soundbites for the GOP, so are other Democrats trying to fill the leadership void, like Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), and even twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton of all people. The problem for Democrats on this, though, is that they, too, further prove Kennedy's point about the "loon wing" fully taking over.

To repeat a point we've made often, it's like Democrats haven't learned anything from their 2024 electoral drubbing. Instead of trying to modify their stances and admitting their policies are unpopular with voters, they've instead doubled down - and in the process have made themselves look even more out of touch.

Yes, Operation Let Them Speak is working beautifully. Keep it up, Democrats. It's always nice when conservatives don't need to do any of the heavy lifting.
