We see the media are all in a lather about President Donald Trump barring Politico, CNN, and MS NOW from briefings at the White House.
Now this is sort of hilarious on a certain level, because no one has given the press more access than President Donald Trump. He's constantly giving personal briefings, not just leaving it to his press team, and talking to the media all the time.
But the media outlets that got the boot are now flipping out that they've been relegated to the sidewalk. As we noted, CNN got served a little hilarious truth by a passerby as they were doing their whining report live on the sidewalk. MS NOW and Politico were also grumbling.
Let's compare that attitude to what we saw under Joe Biden, when the media were constantly being booted from meetings, and any coverage that might have shown his increasingly deteriorating state. The handlers were even cutting Biden off from the media when he wanted to take questions.

Yet despite being treated by the Biden team like dirt, the media was constantly covering for him and spinning away all of his obvious issues, even calling them "deep fakes."
So if we ask who was really blocking the press from doing real coverage, I don't think there's any question it was the Biden team. But because the press was largely liberal, they didn't really have an issue with it.
There was also this moment when the Biden team cut off a lot of reporters' credentials.
In 2023, more than 440 reporters lost press credentials after President Joe Biden’s White House modified its rules for eligibility for permanent passes.
Credentialed White House press members dropped from 1,417 members to 975 members after the White House unveiled new standards requiring an annual renewal of hard passes, Politico reported in 2023. Journalists without hard passes were still authorized to apply for day passes to the White House.
The Biden White House policy was launched in May 2023 and required reporters to prove employment with "an organization whose principal business is news dissemination" and show that they have "accessed the White House campus at least once during the prior six months for work, or have proof of employment within the last three months to cover the White House."

Additionally, hard pass seekers need to show they have an "Assignment to cover (or provide technical support in covering) the White House on a regular basis," and have "Accreditation by a press gallery in either the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, or Supreme Court."
Lastly, applicants must be willing to "submit to any necessary investigation by the U.S. Secret Service to determine eligibility for access to the White House complex."
Now, some might draw contrasts with this new recent action by the president, and say that the Biden team wasn't banning specific networks. But if you look at those requirements, there's clearly a preference there for legacy media to get the hard passes, i.e., the folks who generally are liberal and paint Biden in a better light (no matter what he did).
Meanwhile, it was Trump who opened up the doors to more independent media. So now we have a Townhall White House reporter, Cameron Arcand, and RedState has a Pentagon reporter, R.C. Maxwell. That's opened up the process beyond the legacy media, which is truly serving the point of journalism on behalf of the people.
Trump has probably been the most transparent president in history. He's constantly talking with the media, maybe giving them more time than they even deserve.
CNN, Politico, and MS NOW will probably sue, and the issue will be determined.
But the media is so hypocritical, given how they were treated before, under Biden. And let's not even talk about how they were spied on under Barack Obama. Have they forgotten that spying on James Rosen and the AP reporters?
The liberal media can huff and puff now, but they don't exactly have a lot of credibility with the American people if they want to argue the "rights" of journalists, when they acted more like Democrat operatives. They totally ignored their job to be straight with the American people about Joe Biden, as well as on a boatload of other issues.
