In 2024, pediatric nurse Vanessa Sivadge was fired from her position at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) for anonymously blowing the whistle on what she described as the hospital's alleged illegal use of Medicaid funds to prescribe cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers to minors, in violation of Texas state law.

Fast forward to 2026: As RedState reported at the time, according to an unprecedented settlement secured by Sivadge with the assistance of the Burke Law Group and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, TCH must pay $10 million in penalties for their alleged misuse of Medicaid funds, the five physicians who were allegedly involved in the practice of transitioning minors have been terminated, and the most groundbreaking part of this win: TCH must establish a detransitioner clinic which offers free services to anyone nationwide who has been victimized by the practices of the gender cult.
This was huge, especially for detransitioners like Chloe Cole and Fox Varian, who had to face the process of reintegrating back into their biological sex with little medical or psychological support. Cole called this win a huge victory, and Paxton called the settlement an historic one.
Vanessa Sivadge, a Christian nurse who was fired from her job at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) after exposing alleged Medicaid fraud related to the illegal castration of minors, secured a settlement that includes the hospital establishing the first free detransitioner clinic in the United States.
Under the settlement agreement, TCH must open the clinic by the end of October, pay $10 million in penalties to resolve Medicaid fraud claims, and fire five physicians who carried out sex-rejecting procedures in violation of Texas law, according to a Wednesday press release from Burke Law Group, which represented Sivadge.

I knew about those two doctors: but what I didn't know was that as the government dug deeper, they uncovered three more physicians.
That stopped me in my tracks.
It means the corruption ran deeper than I ever imagined. There were more ideologues behind the curtain. More people willing to sacrifice children while taxpayers footed the bill.
They might have fired me, but I took 5 of their most devoted trans doctors with me.
No regrets.
In an update to this story, KHOU-11 reported last week on Paxton's announcement that the "legal settlement requiring Texas Children's Hospital to create what Attorney General Ken Paxton calls the country's first 'detransition clinic' has been finalized."
This settlement and the institution of a detransitioner clinic are creating a model for other states to follow, setting the precedent as other lawsuits are being waged against hospitals that allegedly performed gender transition surgeries on minors.
The clinic is slated to provide free treatment for patients up to age 21 who underwent trans procedures at TCH or elsewhere and need help healing from fertility-related injuries, endocrine system damage, psychiatry and other long-term health damage. The clinic's services must be provided at no charge to patients for a minimum of five years.
TCH must also commit to institutional reforms that include training healthcare professionals on the dangers of sex-rejecting procedures, rewriting its bylaws to require physicians who perform them on minors to lose their clinical privileges, and commit to banning them at their facilities.
The settlement, which was part of a years-long investigation aided by the Office of the Texas Attorney General and the U.S. Department of Justice, resolves alleged violations of the federal False Claims Act, the Texas Medicaid Fraud Prevention Act, the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as well as federal fraud and conspiracy laws.
This is also a huge coup for AG and Republican U.S. Senate nominee Paxton, who called the settlement, "a resounding defeat for the radical gender ideology that has preyed on children under the guise of 'care.'"
"The settlement gives Texas Children's Hospitals three months to open that clinic and will provide FREE care to people who want to reverse gender reassignment procedures," Fox News reported.
With Paxton's Democrat Senate opponent James Talarico's stated passion for transgender children, Paxton's role in securing aid and salvation for children who have fallen sway to the gender cult and need help to escape it will play an outsized role in his candidacy.

Sivadge was not only a key whistleblower in exposing TCH's alleged illegal gender-affirming care practices; after she was fired by TCH, the Biden DOJ targeted her, showing up at her front door.

The day before that, on June 18, 2024, a doctor who also blew the whistle on the alleged illegal transitioning going on at TCH was indicted by Biden's DOJ on trumped-up charges, as RedState reported.
Today, the Department of Justice indicted Dr. Eithan Haim, a resident at Baylor College of Medicine, on four bogus counts of "wrongfully obtaining individually identifiable health information."
Haim, a Dallas surgeon, previously had done some work at Texas Children's Hospital as part of his residency. The indictment against Haim alleges that in 2023, he asked to reactivate his login there to access information on pediatric patients not under his care, including names, attending physicians and treatment codes, then turned over the information to a media contact.
Haim has publicly identified himself as the person who gave the information about patients at Texas Children's to a conservative activist, who published a story that the hospital was providing transgender care for minors in secret. At the time, transgender care for minors was legal in Texas, but the hospital had announced in 2022 that it would stop would stop [sic] gender-affirming therapies.
Dr. Haim was vindicated in January 2025, when the DOJ dismissed the charges against him with prejudice, meaning they could not bring him up on those charges ever again. Not only has Sivadge won her battle, but she brought down the very apparatus that sought to destroy her and secured help and resources for thousands of young people who were manipulated into mutilating their bodies, giving them a better chance at a normal life.
