Morris Katz, the supposed wunderkind behind New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, is also the campaign strategist for Maine Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner. At present, Katz has failed to live up to his title. Instead, he is doing cleanup on Aisle 7 because he refused to strategize in order to get ahead of the self-inflicted landmines that have blown up all around his candidate.
As RedState reported, the latest scandal involves Platner sexting with at least 12 women soon after he was married, and doing this through an app that has known associations with pedophilia and sex trafficking.
Maine Dem Senate Candidate Platner Says He Forgot to Close His Kik Account. Sure.
These latest revelations against Platner were published on Saturday in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). Genevieve McDonald, a former Platner campaign aide who quit after Platner's racist and antisemitic Reddit posts were exposed, also did an exclusive with the New York Times confirming the veracity of the information published in the WSJ article.
Katz first took to social media and made it plain that whoever leaked the salacious texts and corroborated the information deserved to be driven out of politics because they were "incompetent, untrustworthy," and prioritized "vengeance over decency."
WARNING: Language.
It’s no one’s fucking business what happened in Graham & Amy’s marriage before he was ever a candidate for office.

There should be no place in our politics for incompetent, opportunistic operatives who violate privacy, betray trust, and prioritize vengeance over decency.
If this additional exclusive from Bangor Daily News is any indication, Katz should have taken a better look in the mirror.
An adviser to Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner warned a former aide she would be accused of lying and sabotage if she cooperated with news outlets reporting on sexually explicit messages Platner sent to women, according to a message reviewed by the Bangor Daily News.
Morris Katz, a strategist with the Platner campaign, delivered the Friday warning through an intermediary to former state Rep. Genevieve McDonald, who left the campaign last fall and spoke to The Wall Street Journal and New York Times. The outlets published stories in quick succession on Saturday about the messages that had been flagged by Platner’s wife at the outset of his campaign last summer.
“Just want to be clear on where we are right now,” Katz wrote in the message that McDonald shared exclusively with the BDN. “If the story goes in its current iteration we’ll communicate directly on the record, and by name, that Genevieve violated the personal trust of Amy and Graham and shared explicit falsehoods to sabotage the campaign.”
Since this exploded, Democrats and their useful idiots have run to blame Genevieve McDonald, painting it as a vendetta against the campaign and Platner, and even painting her as a plant to destroy his candidacy. From this exclusive, it is pretty evident that had Katz not threatened to ruin McDonald's career and reputation, she might have handled things differently.

McDonald essentially affirmed that the WSJ article was not her doing: their investigative journalists uncovered the information, vetted the information with multiple sources, then asked McDonald to simply corroborate some of the facts. It was only after Katz threatened McDonald that she went to the New York Times and spilled the rest of the tea.
In terms of destroying his candidacy, Platner is doing a great job of that all by himself. As stated in the RedState article linked above, this shows how Democrats treat their whistleblowers. Had McDonald been doing this to a Republican candidate, she'd be thrown a party, and her actions would be called "stunning and brave." Instead, her name is being maligned, there are demands that she be blacklisted from politics, and McDonald had to resign from a different campaign she had signed on to.
McDonald further confirmed to the Bangor Daily and allegedly wrote this post on her Facebook page. Investigative outlet Maine Wire grabbed a snippet, which read:
There are some details missing from this story, I hope it will be updated.
The WSJ called me Friday morning to tell me they were running a story they had verified through multiple sources. I had spoken with them months ago off the record, so it was a courtesy call I'd probably still get some blowback.
After WSJ reached out to the Platner campaign for comment, Morris Katz demanded that I call the WSJ, retract my comments, tell them their reporting was inaccurate and send him a recording of the call.
When I refused to lie for the Platner campaign he sent this text: "Just want to be clear on where we are right now. If the story goes in its current iteration we'll communicate directly on the record, and by name, that Genevieve violated the personal trust of Amy and Graham and shared explicit falsehoods to sabotage the campaign."
So I went on record with the NYTs.
Vendetta? Maybe. Karma? Most definitely. At this point, McDonald was no longer an employee of the Platner campaign. Yet, Katz chose to threaten her, demand she lie, and if she didn't, she would pay the price. That boomerang came back around really quick, because it appears that Katz and Platner are the ones having to pay the piper.

McDonald served as Platner’s political director from August through October, when she was one of three campaign officials to resign amid a turbulent stretch for the campaign. Her departure came after national and local news outlets reported on old Reddit posts in which Platner made racially charged remarks, downplayed sexual assault and used homophobic slurs, among other comments. Wood, a Senate candidate at the time, called on Platner to drop out.
In her resignation letter sent exclusively to the BDN, McDonald wrote that Platner’s past statements “were not known to me when I agreed to join the campaign, and they are not words or values I can stand behind in a candidate.” The campaign also offered McDonald $15,000 to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which she declined, according to Politico.
So not only has McDonald been distanced from the campaign for quite a while, but she never signed the legally binding document that could get her sued for disclosing campaign secrets. If anything, with Katz putting both his threats in writing, if McDonald has trouble finding work, perhaps she can go after him civilly. It can be rightly said that McDonald did violate trust. But from the time she left the campaign, it is apparent that McDonald held her reputation, conscience, and character above any loyalty to what is increasingly being revealed as a trainwreck of a candidate.
In another post allegedly posted to her Facebook, McDonald pretty much said that, as well as called out the stupidity of the Democrat apparatus in knowingly backing a candidate like Platner.

It reads, in part:
This is seriously the dumbest timeline.
Graham has an anti-Semitic tattoo on his chest. He's not an idiot, he's a military history buff. Maybe he didn't know it when he got it, but he got it years ago and he should have had it covered up because he knows damn well what it means.
His campaign released it themselves to some podcast bros, along with a video of him shirtless and drunk at a wedding to try to get ahead of it.
The vault is open for the GOP to fucking crush any dreams we had in the general and literally everyone I know is fighting with each other on social media.
We cannot be this painfully stupid.
Oh, but they are. So blinded by hatred of Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Trump Derangement Syndrome, that they figure any warm body will do, as long as they can stick it to the Republicans and flip this seat blue.
McDonald is correct. They have handed the GOP a gift, and should Platner go on to the general, they have the unlimited potential to hit him, and hit him hard.
Let's hope they don't screw that up.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
