As my colleagues Brad Slager and Ben Smith reported on Saturday, Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner is the oppo gift that keeps on giving. Thus far, Platner has explained away a Nazi "Totenkopf" tattoo, tried to dodge a history of racist and antisemitic Reddit screeds, dissed two military heroes, and appears to be aroused by portable toilets. Yet, he still has not been disqualified by the Democrats, and whoever in Maine is still supporting him. This newest oppo drop is going to test whether Teflon flows through Graham Platner's veins and how much longer the Democrats can afford to keep propping him up as a winning candidate.
Slager wrote:
For the latest, the man whom the Left cannot make enough excuses for has now been exposed as having a history of salacious sexual texts with several women. A pair of details makes this latest character broadside all the better: The information had been delivered to his team at the start of his campaign, and the information was provided... by his wife.
As Slager further wrote, Platner's wife, Amy Gertner, is pulling a Hillary Clinton: he may be a no-good cheating liar, but he's my no-good cheating liar. Gertner even produced an apology hostage video, which body language experts and psychoanalysts will be dissecting for the rest of Platner's campaign.

Maine Dem Senate Candidate Platner Says He Forgot to Close His Kik Account. Sure.
Fine. It's Gertner's marriage, and she is the one who spoke the vows where she committed to live with this Nazi headcase, no matter what. But the rest of us may not deem her husband competent enough to make laws for Maine, let alone the rest of the country.
However, it's not only Gertner who is doubling down on these latest revelations, but Democrat politicians and political operatives. It takes an extreme amount of cognitive dissonance to ignore yet another scandal by Platner, which further reflects, at best, a stunning lack of character and self-control, and at worst, exceptionally poor judgment.
Leftist podcaster Cenk Uygur praised Gertner's video, declaring this is what real people look like, and this business with the sex texts is just an ugly smear.

This is the same Uygur who despises President Donald Trump because he cheated on his wife and is dodging accountability on the Epstein files. But the lengthy online footprints of Platner and his reprehensible behavior are just "ugly smears."
Hours after the salacious texts oppo dropped, Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) was crowing about how proud he is of Platner, and that he looks forward to campaigning with him ahead of the Maine primary.
