Eric Swalwell is toast. There is no denying this. The takedown campaign by the California and national Democrat complex has been brutal and impressive. As independent journalist Andy Ngo sagely notes, Republicans can only wish they were this efficient.
You have to give Democrats and their liberal media apparatus due credit for how swiftly and quickly they can decapitate one of their own once that person is deemed a political liability who is no longer useful. The right can only fantasize about being that efficient and fast.

As RedState has reported, one female ex-staffer, other female staffers and interns, along with several other women, have accused Swalwell of sexually assaulting and harassing them. One of these incidents occurred in New York, requiring judicial activist Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg to become involved. Swalwell's own senior staff is piling on, declaring unequivocally that they are not working for Swalwell; if they remain in their jobs, it is for reasons of maintaining an income and for Swalwell's victim. Full stop.
But the party elders have been the most transparent: Queen Bee Nancy Pelosi (CA-12) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) have urged Swalwell to suspend his campaign for governor. However, there has been nary a mention made by them that he resign his congressional seat. The reason? Swalwell may be a compromised idiot, but with a razor-thin Republican majority, he's still a useful one.

Here is the ultimate embarrassment for someone who took great pride in this: Swalwell has lost every endorsement he had, the Democrat money laundering fundraising apparatus ActBlue is no longer accepting donations for his campaign, and deep-pocket donors have suddenly closed their wallets.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) lost the last of the 21 endorsements he had from fellow Democratic members of Congress on Saturday as Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) rescinded her support for his gubernatorial campaign.
Why it matters: It's a stunning reversal of political fortunes in just 24 hours. Swalwell was among the frontrunners in the race, but his campaign is in free fall due to allegations of rape, sexual assault and misconduct, which he denies.
His page on the Democratic fundraising website ActBlue and the endorsement tab on his website have been pulled down, his ad buys are being pulled back, at least one fundraiser has been scrapped, and he is reportedly hemorrhaging staff.
Then there are his colleagues in the United States Congress and his Democrat competitors for the governor's chair. There is much pearl-clutching, faux shock, and outrage occurring on X over how Swalwell deceived them, despite decades in close proximity to the man.
Of course, they stand with the victims.
Katie "Mrs. Potato Head" Porter has languished in the polls since Swalwell entered the race. Thirsty and bitter, she sees this as her opportunity to edge past her equally languishing opponents who make up the best and the brightest of the Democrat brain trust. And she wasn't afraid to pull the woman card.

In light of the allegations of sexual assault, Eric Swalwell should resign from Congress and end his campaign for public office. But those decisions do not absolve him of taking responsibility for his misconduct, especially when he has attempted to silence and retaliate against these victims.
These allegations merit full investigations, and these women deserve the right to pursue justice.
Too often, men escape any consequence for sexual misconduct by stepping out of power. That is a first and necessary step towards justice because it limits the ability for further harm. I stand with these women as they seek justice.
If you recall, Porter's own staff leaked videos of her tantrums and rage fests directed at a staffer and a reporter, both of whom happened to be female. If Swalwell does suspend his campaign, and should Porter get her wish and move back up in the polls, expect the same Machiavelli Democrat machine to divest itself of her, posthaste.
Former CA Comptroller Betty Yee (Betty Who?) could not sleep until she let her half a percentage point following (I jest, but barely) that she is angry, fed up, and that men in power cannot abuse power.
Mmmkay...
WATCH:
I couldn't sleep last night. I can't stop thinking about the reprehensible accusations against Eric Swalwell. I'm walking into a candidate forum, but I had to stop and record this quick message. pic.twitter.com/TMZhESCux6
— Betty T. Yee (@BettyYeeforCA) April 11, 2026
According to reports, Yee was asleep for much of her tenure as the state's financial overseer.
One thing that didn’t add up was the main task of her job as controller: filing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the state government on time. Unlike a budget, which is a projection, a comprehensive financial report is a precise accounting of a government body’s finances. It’s crucial especially today as Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Legislature grapple with a deficit as high as $73 billion as they write the budget for fiscal year 2024-25, which begins on July 1.
Yee ignored the calls for transparency and actively blocked any outside oversight over the cratering state's finances. So, she is a poor messenger on ethics and abuse of power.
Just sayin'.
Finally, there is the virtue-signaling junior senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ). Gallego and Swalwell are purportedly very good friends. Gallego was also campaign chair for Swalwell's 2019 presidential run. After first defending Swalwell against the allegations, now Gallego has chosen party over friendship. So, under the bus Swalwell goes.
I’ve read the San Francisco Chronicle’s reporting and I take it seriously.

What is described is indefensible. Women who come forward with accounts like this deserve to be heard with respect, not questioned or dismissed.

I regret having come to his defense on social media prior to knowing all the information. I am equally as shocked and upset about what has transpired.
I am withdrawing my endorsement of Congressman Swalwell, effective immediately.
Whoop-de-doo, Ruben. This is the same senator who served his then-wife with divorce papers while she was in labor, giving birth to their child.

Gallego's supposed "shocked, shocked, I tell you" schtick also doesn't track. As former Trump advisor Caroline Wren asserts, the staffer in the article was part of Swalwell's 2019 presidential campaign while Gallego was his chairman. So, Gallego likely knew full well what Swalwell was doing.
The staffer in the article says she was sexually harassed by Eric Swalwell in 2019.
— Caroline Wren (@CarolineWren) April 12, 2026
2019 is the same year Ruben Gallego served as the campaign chairman of Swalwell’s presidential campaign.
The notion that Gallego didn’t know what Swalwell was doing to women is preposterous. https://t.co/CkXnQA8dS2 pic.twitter.com/9klkqyhesF
Gallego should probably watch his six, too, because the party elders may decide he is as much of a liability as Swalwell.
But the most curious part of this scandal is the radio silence from sitting California governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom. Newsom is too busy trolling Trump and whitewashing fluffing his bona fides for his 2028 presidential campaign.
But Siebel Newsom is the biggest surprise. In light of the first partner having been embroiled in the Harvey Weinstein/#MeToo scandal, you would think she would have some choice words for Swalwell and express sympathy and assistance to his alleged victims.
Nope. Her last posts on X are congratulating Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch on a successful mission and running interference for her benighted "partner" and his failed governance.
Otherwise, crickets.
