Everything in government, around government, and involving government should serve the purpose of the people. If it no longer does, then it needs to go. In a perfect world, the government would be the most pruned organization in the world.
And I don't just mean within it either. If it revolves around our government, it, too, needs to serve a very basic, well-defined purpose.
The legacy media does not serve any aforementioned well-defined purpose. We've known that for decades now, and yet they've been able to infest and overgrow within Washington to a point where their presence has infected the outlook of people for thousands of miles westward.
This is a pretty insane thing when you sit and think about that. A handful of organizations that aren't elected by the people can have so much sway and effect on every single one of us in some way, shape, and form. This could be understandable in the context of people who work in the entertainment industry, or an author of a best-selling book, or a YouTuber who creates a video that redefines a genre.
But the legacy media is not in the business of entertaining. Even when they're "entertaining," they're trying to push a message, and that message should stop being pushed when it comes to their involvement in the news.
Yet it doesn't. The message persists no matter the program or purpose. Everything is a vehicle for the message.
So, in that knowledge, what's the point of the legacy media being around the government?
If you've ever seen the movie "Office Space," there are two characters who come in and evaluate the employees at a company, with the primary question they ask being "What would you say you do here?" It's an infamous scene that portrays them as something like heartless villains who ultimately make the place more complicated and unbearable, but if you were to take this scene and apply it to the government, these two suddenly become heroes.
And one has to wonder what the legacy media itself does here.
As recently reported by my friend and colleague Ward Clark, President Donald Trump announced he was kicking out several legacy media news organizations from the White House because they don't actually serve a purpose for the people:
I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an All Time Record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them “alive.” Seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant “reporting” FAKE NEWS! Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America. Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Naturally, this has been greeted by the Left with shouts of outrage and accusations of media manipulation, but if you were to embody each of these organizations as one person and set them in front of an evaluator, the question they wouldn't be able to get over would be, "What would you say you do here?"
We already know their response would be something like "we deliver unbiased, hard-hitting news to inform the people of the goings-on in Washington," but as my colleague Bob Hoge reported, the Trump administration already preempted the question with a long list of hoaxes CNN foisted on the people.
They don't just serve a purpose; they do the exact opposite of what their job actually is. They lie in service to a group that is, for all intents and purposes, wholly opposed to the people of the United States of America and their well-being. This has been the case for decades. They are demonstrably horrible at their job, and if they were being gauged by the efficacy of their actual purpose, they would've been fired long ago.
But they aren't fired. They're promoted ,and given more colleagues who think like them to work alongside.
These are not news organizations; they're activists posing as journalists.
As such, they serve no purpose to you or me, and that's ultimately who they work for. Their job is to inform us, not control us, and control us is what they're out to do.
So, as far as I'm concerned, their ousting from the White House isn't just reasonable. I would call it wise. Moreover, I think they should be replaced with organizations that are willing to report the facts. I'm more than happy to see one that asks challenging questions that don't always make the Trump administration look good, but I want them to do so from an angle of trying to get the truth, not trying to find a gap in the armor by which to stab the administration through.
