Republicans Delighted As Hasan Piker Backs Unelectable AOC for 2028

Sometimes, those of us on the right look at a statement from some far-left shouter and find ourselves not only in agreement, but fervently so; if you could sum up our reaction to the loony leftist in question, it would be "oh, yes, please do that, please please please please."

In the latest example of this, the far-left, Mao-jacketed communist "influencer," Hasan Piker, who honestly shouldn't be an influence to anyone with enough brains to find their way out of a public restroom stall, is waxing enthusiastic about the notion of a 2028 presidential run by Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14). That's a howler by any measure.

Far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker selected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., over a slate of prominent Democrats as his preferred 2028 presidential candidate on Wednesday — arguing that AOC could excite the Democratic Party's base and bring infrequent voters into a winning coalition.
When asked to choose between Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., as his preferred candidate, Piker immediately selected the New York congresswoman.
"AOC. It's not even a question," Piker said during a Zeteo interview with Mehdi Hasan.

To which any Republicans viewing immediately responded with, "Oh, yes, please. Please. Please!" Honestly, we should be so lucky. Want to see a Democrat presidential candidate fail even harder than the jarringly bad Kamala Harris? Here you are.

The Mao-suited commie Piker continues:

Piker made the choice at the end of a rapid-fire exercise that began with California Gov. Gavin Newsom and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. The list later included former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former Vice President Kamala Harris, Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif.
Piker said Ocasio-Cortez stood apart from the other potential contenders presented to him.
"AOC is, out of all of the people that you mentioned," Piker said. "AOC is the only one that I would like."

The only one he would like? That's telling indeed, as none of the other candidates have loudly and repeatedly claimed to be "democratic socialists." When Kamala Harris and Chris Van Hollen aren't far enough to the left for a certain speaker, that's when you know you're listening to a real nut.

Here's the real joke out of this Q&A session:

Piker acknowledged that her race and gender could present electoral obstacles but rejected the argument that they would make victory impossible.

Oh, please. Her race and sex - not gender; language has gender, people have sex - have nothing to do with it. What has much to do with it is that AOC's winning a congressional election in NY-14, which district would elect a day-old dinner roll to the House of Representatives if it was on the ballot as a Democrat, in no way translates into any ability to win a presidential election.

Sadly, not even today's Democratic Party is insane enough to nominate AOC for president. Their best move, loath as I am to offer advice to the competition, is to leave her right where she is, as a reliable safety valve to let some of the loony left wing of the party blow off some steam now and then. As for 2028, if national Democrats have any sense at all, they will go to someone like Joe Manchin and say, "Joe, please save us!"

Even if the Democratic Party as a whole hasn't gone daffy enough to nominate AOC for president, though, they certainly don't look like they may tack back to the center-left any time soon. And for that, Republicans should be grateful.
