TOP O' THE MORNIN'

MSNBC's Must-See Post-Debate Meltdown Managed to Be Both Hilarious and Educational

MSNBC provides a window into the soul of the Democratic Party. It is the unfiltered raw emotion of who they truly are, and it's not pretty. When MSNBC is upset, you know a Republican did something right.

Vance Destroys the 'Weird' Lie, Now Dems Have a Bigger Problem - He's 'Hot'

As I said, it's the intelligence and the policy that are the important things, but this definitely is also a plus — when you're in a tough battle, every little bit helps.

WATCH: Walz Even Has Trouble With Questions in Pizza Shop After the Debate

Walz couldn't answer because there really is no answer apart from he has a problem, much like Joe Biden, of being a serial fabulist. And we don't need another one.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

As noted, the critters are largely out until after the election. Thankfully, that hasn't prevented Congress from approving disaster relief funds for the response to Hurricane Helene. Meanwhile, some members of Congress are taking their time off to provide actual assistance to those in need.

White House What's Up

President Joe Biden is set to visit some of the areas affected by Helene on Wednesday afternoon, including an aerial tour of the areas and an operational briefing in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Homestretch

Though it's not exactly clear why Vice President Kamala Harris needs to travel to August, Georgia, to do so, she will be delivering remarks from there, including "updates on Federal actions that are being taken to support emergency response and recovery efforts in Georgia and other states throughout the southeast." No word on what Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will be doing Wednesday (aside from burning copies of the Daily Mail *cough* — stay tuned).

Fresh off the Vice Presidential Debate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is traveling to Pennsylvania for a series of "bus tour events." Former President Donald Trump's running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, will be delivering remarks in Auburn Hills and Marne, Michigan, Wednesday afternoon.

Full Court Press...

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is due back in court Wednesday morning for an initial conference.

No formal ruling yet from Judge Tanya Chutkan on the competing motions in the D.C. election case on the immunity issue, but we'll keep our eyes peeled for that.

MORNING MUSING

Apologies for the tardiness of this morning's minute — up late for the debate and crazy early for an appearance on Irish radio. I shared my takeaways from the debate on X/Twitter earlier, so will simply share that here, as well. Nutshell for the TL/DR crowd: Vance won.

LIGHTER FARE
