'Dr.' Jill's Dramatic New Spin on Biden's Debate Disaster Fails the Smell Test—Complete With Receipts

The June 2024 presidential debate between then-President Joe Biden (D) and then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was inarguably one of the most consequential events in American political history, largely because it proved to the American people beyond a shadow of a doubt that the occupant of the Oval Office was unwell. As we all know, it led to Biden withdrawing from the presidential race three weeks later after essentially being forced out by his fellow Democrats.

It was a reckoning of sorts for the Democrat Party, the Biden-Harris administration, and the mainstream media, all of whom played starring roles in the deliberate years-long cover-up of Biden's decline, when it was obvious to so many that it was his handlers - including his wife, then-First Lady Jill Biden - who were the ones really steering the ship.

It was "Dr." Jill in particular who came under a greater deal of scrutiny beyond all the others in Biden's orbit, considering her role in not just influencing him to run in 2020 but her central role in urging him to run for reelection in 2024, despite clear evidence that it was way past time he stepped aside.

Jill Biden now has a book to sell, View from the East Wing, which will be available on June 2. It's billed as a memoir, with the promotional packaging for it centered around how Mrs. Biden allegedly was and is "dedicated to her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher—and First Lady of the United States."

That is a... highly questionable characterization, for reasons I'll get to in a moment. But first, let's take a look at a preview clip from the CBS News "Sunday Morning" program, where she sat down for a sympathetic "interview" to promote the book ahead of its release.

The video shows Jill Biden talking about Joe Biden's infamous debate performance and how her first thought was not that this looks like the Joe Biden she sees every day of the week, but how he, in her view, might be having a stroke on live TV:

"I was frightened, because I had never ever seen Joe like that before or since. Never," Jill Biden told CBS News Sunday Morning's Rita Braver in an interview airing Sunday on CBS.

"I don't know what happened," she said. "As I watched it, I thought, 'Oh, my God, he's having a stroke.' And it scared me to death."

Watch:

That just doesn't square with reality. I mean, if you think your husband is having a stroke, do you just stand there and watch, or do you immediately call for medical attention?

Remember, Jill Biden was at the debate and was involved in one of the more noteworthy moments where she had to hold his hand to help him down a couple of steps after the debate was over, as seen in the feature image above and in the video clip below:

If she thought he was having a stroke, she didn't have to pick up the phone to get a handler to step in. She could have done it herself by walking on the stage or having someone else do it. That didn't happen.

Further, she was treating Biden like a child at a campaign event shortly after the debate, praising him for "answering all the questions" as he looked out of it and lost at what for him was a late hour to be up. Does this look like a woman who thought her octogenarian husband had just gone through a stroke? Had a medical evaluation even been done after the debate?

Let's also not forget that Jill Biden reportedly was, again, the most vocal proponent of Biden not only running for reelection but also staying in the race after the disastrous debate, where she thought he might have had a stroke.

"The first lady has also expressed fear that bowing out would make the Atlanta debate a defining image of her husband’s presidency, an outcome she finds unacceptable, the people said," Politico reported two weeks after the debate.

So Jill Biden thought her husband had a stroke during the debate and pushed him to stay in the race afterward to protect his (and her) legacy or whatever.  That does not sound like a woman who was "dedicated to her role as a wife" to me. In fact, it sounds like a rather cruel individual, something I've written about here before.

As to the other comment about how she'd allegedly never seen him look like that before or since the debate, who is she trying to fool here? There is a mountain of evidence - RedState documented a lot of it - where it was clear she was visibly uncomfortable while stage managing Biden's public appearances from start to finish, including pushing him off the stage and running interference for him when uncomfortable questions got asked:

Jill Biden knew. She always knew. And no amount of revisionist spin or fawning media coverage will ever change that inconvenient fact, because the receipts - something the Democrat-compliant MSM used to call "cheap fakes" before they no longer could - don't lie.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
