As is the case with domestic policy, there are going to be criticisms of foreign policy where the person may have a fair point. But in the case of Democrats on the issue of Operation Epic Fury, what we're getting daily is TDS on steroids, topped with complete 180s from some of these folks on holding the Iranian regime accountable for its nuclear ambitions.
As we reported, there was, for instance, former Vice President Kamala Harris proclaiming Trump "is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a 'whole civilization' — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it," while adding that "We must all stand against this and oppose funding this illegal war of choice."
Left out, of course, were Harris' previous statements on Iran, which included telling Jewish voters in October 2024 that "all options are on the table" to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and that it would be her "highest priority" if elected president.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) has been another Democrat who has been against the strikes on Iran from the start, so much so that it appeared he was actually cheering on Iran in a Monday tweet in which he replied "awesome" to a dubiously sourced "report" of Iranian fleet vessels allegedly bypassing the U.S. blockade:
Year of our Lord 2026: Democrat US Senator openly rooting for Iran to defeat the US in battle. Every Dem on the Hill ought to be hounded today by every reporter to answer for this lunatic. pic.twitter.com/8ixSVsGFRo

The original tweet from Murphy is still up as of this writing.
Naturally, this prompted quite an outcry on X. But Murphy's response, which was to claim he was being "sarcastic," only made it worse:
Ok Twitter, I can’t believe I need to clarify this but obviously Trump’s bungled mismanagement of this war is not “awesome”. As I have said a million times here, it’s a disaster and he should end the war immediately. My tweet was something called “sarcasm”. https://t.co/aL9vSEzZC1

Oh so you're just spreading Iranian lies in order to undermine the American war effort. Much better
— Will Chamberlain (@willchamberlain) April 21, 2026
Any comment on the fact that you were promoting easily disprovable Iranian propaganda? https://t.co/ZctylTYqIc
— Jerry Dunleavy IV 🇺🇸 (@JerryDunleavy) April 21, 2026
Zero IRGC ships have broken the blockade. You were pumping enemy propaganda, rooting against US interests. Same as you've been doing the whole time.

There was also this inconvenient reminder:
A reminder of what I exclusively reported in 2020. You later admitted my reporting was correct. pic.twitter.com/XMqGfBTFnA

By the way, the "report" Murphy cited in his "awesome" tweet? Debunked:
“So that was just Iranian propaganda?”
— Fox News (@FoxNews) April 21, 2026
“Yes, absolutely.”@TreyYingst reports there’s no evidence any vessels left Iranian ports or moved through the Strait of Hormuz — undercutting the false narrative about 26 Iranian ships slipping past a U.S. blockade. | @foxandfriends pic.twitter.com/jnUB9yoSFK
We're still awaiting an update on his opinion in light of this news, but suffice it to say that he will no longer view it as an "awesome" thing, because the news that the report was debunked is not just good news for Trump, it's also good for America, and as far as TDS-afflicted Democrats go, we simply can't have that.
Editor's Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
