'Is That What It Was?' Harris Campaign Staffer Confronted Over Laughable Excuse for Late Biden DNC Speech

As RedState previously reported, President Joe Biden's much-delayed political farewell to the Democratic National Convention delegates Monday night was filled with slurring, stumbling, screaming, and falsehoods at a convention that reportedly had more than a few empty seats ahead of his speech.

He of course brought up the Charlottesville "very fine people" hoax in the very same speech where he had his own very real and disgusting "very fine people" moment concerning radical pro-Hamas protesters outside the arena, who he declared without evidence have "got a point."

At various points, he also invoked "democracy" while leaving out that the Democrat Party did a very undemocratic thing by shoving him out of the race after he'd gone through the traditional primary process because they were terrified he would lose to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

As we also reported, the excuses made by the DNC about why Biden's speech was delayed well past the time most folks on the East Coast typically go to bed were hilarious. Their official statement was to claim that "Because of the raucous applause interrupting speaker after speaker, we ultimately skipped elements of our program to ensure we could get to President Biden as quickly as possible." Full response:

"Because of the raucous applause interrupting speaker after speaker, we ultimately skipped elements of our program to ensure we could get to President Biden as quickly as possible so that he could speak directly to the American people. We are proud of the electric atmosphere in our convention hall and proud that our convention is showcasing the broad and diverse coalition behind the Harris-Walz ticket throughout the week on and off the stage."

It was an excuse echoed by Harris-Walz campaign comms director Michael Tyler during a Tuesday segment on Fox News with co-anchors Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer. As you can see by the below clip, though, Hemmer was not buying it.

“So, too many people clapping for too long? Is that what it was?” Hemmer said to Tyler while unable to suppress a laugh over his answer. “Are we to buy that?”

Watch:

Tyler and his cohorts on the left and in the media (but I repeat myself) can spin this whatever way they want to, but we all know why the speech was pushed back until nearly 11:30 pm Eastern Time and it wasn't because of "raucous applause interrupting speaker after speaker."

I mean, think about it. They know Biden's coherency window is between the hours of 10 am to 4 pm per his handlers, so why on earth would they have him on so late at night, well past the time when he, in their view, conceivably could make the most sense? For that matter, why not 7 or 8 pm ET?

It was because they didn't want voters to be reminded of just how bad a president Biden has been, and of all the behind-the-scenes cutthroat machinations Democrat leaders orchestrated for a few weeks in July to force him out of the race.

It's just as simple as that.
