We've heard now from the party elites who seem to be going all in with the effort to get Joe Biden out of the race.
There's been Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who reportedly had personal conversations with him, Pelosi telling him he can't win and Schumer allegedly saying to step aside. There have also been reports about other Democrats calling on him to step aside.
But Biden rebuffed the efforts. Supposedly, in the Pelosi report, she was going to up the pressure if he didn't take the hint.
There were also reports Biden's time might be making a move on the question as early as this weekend.

It looks like the pressure was just upped big time with a story concerning Barack Obama.
If you recall, where we last left Obama was him not objecting to George Clooney's searing op-ed telling Biden to step aside. Then, when questioned about it, his team didn't comment. That was a big clue that he didn't necessarily disagree with what was said.

Now, there's a new report from the Washington Post that has been conveniently leaked out about what Obama is saying.
Former president Barack Obama has told allies in recent days that President Biden’s path to victory has greatly diminished and he thinks the president needs to seriously consider the viability of his candidacy, according to multiple people briefed on his thinking. [....]
Behind the scenes, Obama has been deeply engaged in conversations about the future of Biden’s campaign, taking calls from many anxious Democrats, including former House speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and has shared his views about the president’s challenges, according to people with knowledge of the calls, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations. [....]
In some conversations, Obama, who has long looked to data for political insights, has told people he is concerned that the polls are moving away from Biden, that former president Donald Trump’s electoral path is expanding and that donors are abandoning the president.
His spokesperson has no comment on the report? Translation: They want you to know they have no objection to what's being reported.
That's pretty much it if Obama, the notorious vacillator, is now going there. Then, everyone is going to consider it open season to join the push.
Meanwhile, you have Jill Biden. I wonder what it will take to convince her. But it seems only a matter of time before they cave and someone finds whatever deal that she will take. At this point, the Democratic elites are going to be taken off the kid gloves if the Biden team doesn't.
They've put themselves in a box on this, and any way they slice it, they have a chaotic mess with some of the Democratic voters not happy with their votes now potentially being pushed to the side, too, if they do this.
