The gentlemen of the popular podcast "RUTHLESS" have broken news on their show, which is being taped live at the Republican National Convention this week, concerning the ongoing fight between Democrats who want Joe Biden to step down and the Biden team.
According to their report, Schumer personally went to Biden's private residence in Delaware to meet with the president and lay out the case for why Biden should step down.
Hosts John Ashbrook and Josh Holmes led the discussion.
Breaking: Schumer went to Biden's house and asked him to step down.

"It's our understanding that he was going to lay out the case for Joe Biden and why it's very, very difficult for his party to survive this election," Holmes explained, "if he's still in office or at least still running for president."
Now, Schumer is the Democratic leader in the Senate, and it's his job to advocate for the party's best interest in the chamber. But Schumer himself spent a long time climbing the ranks to power and for him to potentially lose it after one presidential term because another stubborn old man wouldn't get out of the way must be an infuriating feeling. So for Biden to insist on staying in the race despite all the data the Democrats are churning out to convince him to step down would just rip Schumer's heart out of his body.
The reported meeting comes at the same time as reports that Democratic strategists and pollsters are coming up with poll after poll showing that Democratic voters want someone else. What's more, that same data is showing that those voters want someone from outside the administration.
"In other words," Politico is reporting, "not Kamala Harris."
The data here opens a new front in the fight to replace Biden, strongly arguing that the best chance to defeat Trump is with a new Democratic nominee independent of the incumbent administration.
In other words: not Kamala Harris.
The strongest potential candidates are (in alphabetical order) Arizona Sen. MARK KELLY, Maryland Gov. WES MOORE, Pennsylvania Gov. JOSH SHAPIRO and Michigan Gov. GRETCHEN WHITMER. All four outpaced Biden “by roughly 5 points across battleground states.”
This data supports the views of strategists like JAMES CARVILLE and those arguing that blindly rallying around Harris would be as big a mistake as blindly supporting Biden’s reelection was. “Nearly twice as many voters say delegates should nominate the best candidate over picking the next in line,” the memo says. This faction of the #DumpBiden movement wants an open process to replace Biden — who, by the way, still says he has no intention of stepping aside.
On Monday, we checked in with one of the leaders of the effort in Congress, who gave us this update.
Absolutely brutal news for the Biden team, but Biden has refused to give up the pursuit of a second term, and Democrats worry that he won't.
This report also comes as the Democratic National Committee's Rules Committee is scheduling meetings, noting that "no virtual voting will begin before August 1."
SCOOP: DNC says the virtual roll call to nominate Biden will happen in AUGUST, according to letter first obtained by CBS News

Sent today by heads of the rules convention committee Gov. Walz and Leah Daughtry. DNC and DNCC have buy in.

But if the Democrats force Biden out or stage a coup, that would complicate the virtual voting process. One wonders if it could possibly force a virtual open convention.
The Democrats, in short, are in disarray and they are desperate to make a change. But it certainly does seem like it's too late to make that move without a ton of chaos that would only make the Democratic Party look infinitely worse than it does right now.
