This one was almost too stupid to cover, but sometimes the really stupid silliness is hard to pass up, which is nearly always the case with anything to do with MSNBC’s Morning Joe and its lovebird co-hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. (Mr. and Mrs. Mika, as I’m fond of calling them.)
On Friday’s episode of the Trump-bashing, Biden-loving comedy show, Mika beclowned herself bigly, which is a piece of cake for her and her emasculated hubby. The best part? Her delusional musings are easily discreditable by a strong majority of voters, whose opinions are regularly confirmed in survey after survey:
Joe Biden is a disastrous president who has intentionally taken America down the wrong path since Day One of his miserable presidency. Bottom line: Stick a fork in Joe; it’s past time to kick him to the curb.
Au contraire, according to Brzezinski. With a straight face, mind you, Mika actually declared Biden is “extremely well-liked” by the American people. Yeah.
As NewsBusters reported, Mika’s delusional proclamation was in reference to the Democrat panel’s consensus that the Republican-led House Oversight Committee is making a “political mistake” by investigating Biden’s crackhead son Hunter Biden and his nefarious business dealings, and for having the audacity to “attack” Joe as part of the process. Apparently, in Mika’s mind, as the Twitter Files revealed, the fact that Biden was immersed in his son’s business activities in China and elsewhere is irrelevant.
Just one problem.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has made it clear on multiple occasions that the focus of the committee’s investigation isn’t Hunter Biden, it’s Joe Biden; “The Big Guy,” who received 10 percent of at least one of Hunter’s deals, according to former Hunter business partner Tony Bobulinksi.
The “credible” MSNBC panel included Jonathan Lemire, the current White House bureau chief of Politico, and host of MSNBC’s morning “news” show, Way Too Early. One of this hypocritical clown’s comments illustrates the consense of not only the panel but of Mika, as well:
It [Comer’s committee] was extraordinarily predictable yesterday. An airing of grievances and conspiracy theories. And making a bet that the American people care at all about Hunter Biden and his laptop and business dealings. And look, if there was some wrongdoing, it’ll be investigated by the proper authorities. And that remains to be seen, whether or not that will happen.
But this is something that they have talked themselves into a corner. That these conspiracy theories, what used to be on the fringes of the internet, became more mainstream thanks to Republican talking points.
They live on in primetime Fox News shows. And, for an element of the Republican base, they want to see this happen. and Republicans have told me they feel like they’d be punished by voters if they didn’t see through here.
Twilight Zone-level delusion, at best. Then there was Mika, who preceded to take the ridiculousness to a whole nother level (emphasis, mine):
I mean, I’m going to add to that description … they’re adding to their grievance train, the obsession with Hunter, for whatever they might find is, I think, that’s going to backfire as well.
This is President Biden, who is extremely well-liked. Who many believe has accomplished something in his first two years in office. And they’re going after him with such vigor. I’m not sure that’s a good look for them. While their former president, they literally closed their eyes, [and] put blinders on to an insurrection.
I just don’t know how that will translate, and I think we learned in the midterms that the American people are clued into democracy matters. They don’t like insurrections, where people get tortured and killed. And, they kind of like Joe Biden! They kind of like him!
I’m not even going to bother to respond to Mika’s delusional crock of crap — other than by throwing cold water all over it. Even Brzezinki’s “bible,” The New York Times, just last Tuesday headlined an article: Biden’s approval ratings last year were some of the worst for a second-year president. Here are a few “highlights”:
Most Americans disapprove of the job President Biden is doing … Overall, Mr. Biden had among the lowest average second-year approval ratings of any modern president, with his numbers dropping nearly eight percentage points since his first year in office.
In recent weeks, polling averages have shown a … noticeable drop in Mr. Biden’s approval ratings amid investigations into his handling of classified documents …
The economy has consistently edged out everything else as the most important issue, with 35 percent of Americans — including nearly half of Republicans — pointing to inflation as the most urgent issue facing the country in a recent poll from Quinnipiac University. Just 37 percent of Americans approve of Mr. Biden’s handling of the economy, largely unchanged over the past year.
Care to comment, Mika? We’ll wait.
Moreover, as my colleague Joe Cunningham reported earlier this month, 58 percent of Democrats don’t want Biden to run for re-election in 2024, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.
The poll also found that among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, 49 percent prefer someone other than Donald Trump as their nominee in 2024, compared with 44 percent who favor the former president.
Moreover, 62 percent of likely voters said they’d be “dissatisfied” or “angry” if Biden were re-elected in 2024, while 56 percent said the same about Trump winning a second term.
While Mr. and Mrs. Mika might not have been happy with the above results about Biden, which they no doubt ignored, they undoubtedly celebrated the Trump findings. Either way, to suggest Joe Biden is “extremely well-liked” by voters is crazy as hell.
