Fauci Dodges Senate Investigators — Refuses to Testify Again

After Dr. Anthony Fauci appeared before the Senate in late July and did what he does best: Dodge accountability.

The former top COVID doc unleashed a self-serving rant about Senate investigators and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) before pleading the Fifth over a hundred times.

While Sen. Paul has forwarded the committee's party line vote to recommend that Fauci be held in Contempt of Congress, many Americans will faint on the spot if he is actually sent to prison.

That's not likely to happen with Dr. Anthony Fauci. Like Keyser Soze, he seems to be protected from "up on high by the Prince of Darkness."

Thus, it should come as no surprise that he is refusing to testify a second time before people who apparently don't have any real authority over him.

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Friday declined a request to voluntarily appear before a second Senate panel, opening another front in Republicans’ investigations into the former public health official’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
An attorney for Fauci rejected the request from Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, arguing that compelling Fauci to testify again after his contentious July 29 Senate hearing would "impermissibly harass or degrade Dr. Fauci for political purposes."
Johnson has been conducting a parallel investigation into Fauci and the federal government’s response to COVID-19, including the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

It's starting to look more like our Senate is there to provide political theater and less like it is there to actually hold anyone accountable.

And so, Dr. Anthony Fauci is "living his best life" after getting a bizarre "pre-emptive pardon" for "crimes he may or may not have committed" going back to 2014 when he was pushing "gain-of-function research."

That brings us to what Fauci is doing now: Cashing in. It looks like the corrupt fingerprints he left all over the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are still benefiting him after he left.

As my RedState colleague Ward Clark covered, based on an exclusive report from Natalie Winters, Fauci has taken an "informal consultant" position with an Italian biomedical research center that is now being funded by our NIH to the tune of around $44 million.

As Winters laid out in her Substack report, this is how Fauci continues to milk the cash cow that is the NIH.

Fauci spent nearly four decades controlling NIAID, one of the most powerful infectious-disease funding agencies on the planet.
Within months of leaving that post, he attached himself to a foreign-government-backed pandemic center led by a longtime scientific associate.
That associate subsequently became one of the principal investigators on a $44 million NIAID-funded vaccine and antibody program.
His Italian institute became an official participating institution.
And its own records now show laboratory purchases tied directly to an NIH ReVAMPP project.

It's good to be the king of lies.

And if the U.S. government can't do something simple like bring this man to justice, then we don't really have a government "of the people, by the people, for the people," do we?
