House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) proudly announced the names of the other theater-kid members he wants to join him on a new subcommittee investigating what happened on January 6, 2021, and it goes as badly as you imagine.
To kick things off with this clown car, Jeffries named Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to be the lead Democrat on the new subcommittee.

And as you can expect, Swalwell took the mic and suggested J6 was just like other days that will live in infamy in our history, like Pearl Harbor and September 11, 2001.
It’s almost too dumb to respond to. But here’s the clip and comments in full.
Rep. Eric Swalwell, Democrats' pick to serve as ranking member on the subcommittee, describes J6 as "one of the 3 most important dates in American history" after the Civil War.

Swalwell says the three “most important dates in American history” since the Civil War are the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor on “December 7, 1941, September 11th, and January 6th.”
He also called J6 the “worst of wrongs,” and he continued to draw a comparison between what happened that day and the terrorist attacks on 9/11.
Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) was next up, and she got a turn to say something crazy when she claimed that the GOP-led J6 subcommittee is nothing more than a distraction from President Donald Trump.
She claimed that it’s an attempt to distract from Trump not lowering the cost of food; however, the cost of food has gone down under President Trump, but she can’t be distracted by things like facts.
Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) was also named to the subcommittee and called the events of J6 “the largest crime perpetrated on the Capitol since the British.” These three are hilarious.

At the end, Jeffries took questions from the press, with one reporter asking him his reaction to Swalwell’s ridiculous comparison of January 6 to Pearl Harbor.
Jeffries brushed off the criticism and said that what Swalwell said is that there are “certain days that will live in infamy in terms of the shock of consciousness to the American people.” Uh-huh.

He also said what happened on J6 could not be “whitewashed by Donald Trump” and extreme MAGA Republicans.”
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has the ultimate say in whether these three will be part of the subcommittee. Stay tuned.
As RedState's Nick Arama previously pointed out, Jeffries managed to nab the "Theater Kid of the Week" crown in July after his speaking stunt on the House floor to delay the vote for President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), though she noted it was close with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) in the running for his TikTok "Twins" post with former NFL player Isaac Rochell.
Redstate’s Rusty Weiss recently reported how Swalwell had posted several videos on social media in an attempt to make himself appear like a jock, including one video of himself bench pressing 135 pounds and getting winded halfway through his diatribe. He was roundly mocked for it.
