Cory Booker Challenges Hakeem Jeffries for Ridiculous 'Theater Kid' Moment of the Week

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) was angling for the "Theater Kid of the Week" crown with a floor speech against the "One Big Beautiful Bill" that was more than eight and a half hours long. It was particularly pointless because it wouldn't change any votes. It just looked like he was trying to go for the record of longest House floor speech.

As we reported, it also upset some Democrats because they weren't given notice about what he was going to do for that length of time just before a holiday weekend, so they couldn't properly plan. That's not exactly sterling leadership on his part. One Democrat House member even admitted it was about "showtime" for the base.

But Jeffries actions did nothing to stop the bill from passing.

But that wasn't the only theater kid "showtime" moment that came out this week. Jeffries buddy, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) had an interview with former NFL player Isaac Rochell. Rochell posted this weird moment. I don't even know how to describe what it is they are doing. What the heck?

"I get it, but like I also don't," Rochell captioned it adding in the tags for "Cory Booker," "twins," and "big beautiful bill."

I think you can say that again. No one got it, the most common reaction to it on X seems to have been "What is that?" As to the "twins" comment, no, they don't look at all similar.

But Democrats responding in the replies were also unhappy that Booker was doing that in the wake of the passage of the "One Big Beautiful Bill." How could he be dancing if millions were going to die? Maybe, and here's a thought, because it's a bunch of horse hockey, and his dancing confirms that. Democrats have been claiming "people are going to die" any time they're against a bill, it's like the "Trump is Hitler" claim. No one believes anything they have to say anymore, for good reason.

What does Booker think this shows besides that he's incredibly cringe? Who thought that this was a smart thing to do? Who does Booker think this is appealing to? If the Democrats are currently trying to reach out to young men, how does this dance do that? I would think anyone looking for serious solutions would flee in the opposite direction.

I think Jeffries still wins for the sheer length of the ridiculousness and relation to the OBBB, as well as Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) falling asleep behind him. But Booker's entry was still pretty ridiculous.

'Stella!' The Cory Booker 'Filibuster' Memes Have Arrived and They Are Hilarious

This dance also isn't the first theater kid moment for Booker. We reported how both he and Jeffries hung out on the Capitol steps for hours in another performative stunt. Then there was his many-hour fake filibuster that, like Jeffries' rant, also produced a whole lot of nothing.

At this point, it seems that is all that the Democrats are about.
