You're living through a time of deconstruction. Every story and piece of history is being killed off, not by being burned in a fire or banned from bookstores, television, or movie screens, but by retellings here and there that redefine how current and future generations see the stories.
As I said in my last VIP article detailing how Netflix has now revealed their new character model for Narnia's Aslan and how they confirmed that Meryl Streep will indeed be voicing him, it's a plan that's both insidious and brilliant. You don't have to look like a bad guy by trying to outright destroy the stories and figures that serve as the foundation for Western civilization; you just have to give the impression that these pillars are something they aren't.
Something a lot more friendly to the modern leftist way of thinking.
Notice the increase in the volume of these attacks on our pillars.
As I wrote, Aslan is the big one coming up.
Very recently, news spread that the Smithsonian was putting the ol' critical theory belt to George Washington's backside. Fox News described what was going on at one of the world's most famous museums as such:

The museum also offers educational materials describing the American War for Independence as a “disruptive and dangerous project,” while a prominently displayed book criticizes Americans’ “cult-like” dedication to the Constitution.

In August, I commented on another recent attempt to destroy the West's reverence for another hero, Alexander the Great:
You can probably name a whole lot more examples just off the top of your head, and they're not hard to dredge up from the memory banks because these deconstructions happen so often that you can set your clock to it.
As it turns out, not even Cinderella is safe, as Netflix is about to release a film that paints her evil stepsisters as the good guys. Hilariously, one of the stepsisters is named "Lilith," a demon from the Bible that modern-day feminists swear is actually Adam's first wife. In truth, what we know as Lilith today is more like an ancient version of a comic book character, but I digress.

I want to point something out about all this, though. Yes, they're attacking Western civilization and trying to redefine what it is by perverting and watering down these stories. They're trying to redefine and reimagine morality by making you think the good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys, or to be more accurate, that morality is subjective and everything you think you know about it is wrong.
But let's be very clear here.
Ultimately, these attacks on our stories and our heroes are an attack on you.
What is Western civilization? It's not a place or a government, or even a race. It is a system of values and beliefs that form a specific kind of moral foundation that is, frankly, unique compared to all of human history. It is a way of life, of communication, of work and behavioral ethics, and belief in the importance of human life that is taken from and inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Even atheists operate by many of the ideas that He laid down.
In short, Western civilization is you.
So when they attack these stories and try to reimagine them so they're less problematic, or more friendly to modern leftist ideals, what they're saying is that you are problematic, and that you need changing. You should feel bad about what you think and believe, because it's all wrong. It's behind the times, archaic, and closed-minded. You're a bigot and not very inclusive in a world where inclusivity is the highest virtue.
It's you who needs to be reimagined, and since you won't do it through fear and intimidation, as they've tried doing relentlessly over the past decade, it will have to happen through the subtle erosion of your culture. Everything you know will be killed off and replaced until you have nothing left to fight for, and you either go gently into that good night or corrupt yourself to match your surroundings.
You will die one way or another, and they will rule... or at least that's the plan.
