There are moments when I start to feel worried about the future, and then I remember that the Democrat Party has glommed onto Hasan Piker. He is one of the most ridiculous people on the internet, and the left has fooled itself into thinking he's something far more impressive than he actually is.
Of course, the old-guard Democrats only found out recently that Piker was a total psychopath, and the walking back has begun. However, the new Democrat Party, the one being taken over by radical socialists and Islamic ideologues, knew who the man was from the beginning. That said, I don't think they dislike Piker; I think they like him because they believe something in his brain is the key to unlocking their lost momentum.
It's the new Democrats who truly like Piker, but I think they overestimated their popularity. As my colleague Sister Toldjah wrote recently, even Abdul El-Sayed out in Michigan, who was treating Piker like an honored guest and wanting him to tag along on his campaign, is starting to distance himself from the streamer:
In the weeks since, the anti-America, anti-Israel El-Sayed and his fellow Michigan Democrats have been peppered with questions about his Bromance with antisemitic Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, and whether or not he/they disavow abhorrent comments previously made by Piker, including how he felt America "deserved 9/11." Piker also once said, "it doesn’t matter if rape happened on October 7th. It doesn’t change the dynamic for me," in reference to the documented Hamas terrorist rapes of Israeli women hostages in the larger context of the Israel-Hamas war and where Piker stands (which is with Hamas).
While El-Sayed has not disavowed Piker, he has switched to repeatedly referring to him as merely a "Twitch streamer," refusing to say his name while claiming Piker has never been what his campaign was about, pretending Piker didn't play a pivotal role in elevating his profile.
Again, I want to make it clear that El-Sayed likely loves Piker and everything he stands for, including Americans dying at the hands of terrorists and the establishment of an Islamic/Communist rule. He just overvalued Piker because, like other Democrats, he failed to spot the fact that Piker's popularity exists in a contained environment.
His being the most infamous streamer on Twitch isn't because the masses well loved him. His presence there is a continued issue because Twitch brass won't do what they need to do to so many others on the platform, and that's to tamp down extremism on the left. Piker's entire platform is a result of cowardice on multiple levels. Including Twitch brass's fear of him and Piker's fear of his own audience that keeps him forever amping up the extremist rhetoric.
Moreover, there's a legacy media that can't seem to stop cheerleading him as well. That, in itself, is enough to convince a Democrat that he's as celebrated as Santa Claus on Christmas because the left is very often confused by its own grandstanding.
But I truly wish Democrats would just come out and be honest about Piker. They like him. They love his energy. They want his connection to the youth. They appreciate his enthusiasm for radical leftism and how open he is about supporting it.
If Republicans wanted to capitalize on this moment, they should force Democrats to embrace their relationship with him. They need to push them into a position where they have to defend Piker tooth and nail. Not just confess that they actually like him, mind you. They won't do that. Republicans have to make them actively side with Piker.
I think once that happens, the rest would take care of itself. The only reason they are having to pull back now is that voters began expressing their displeasure at a man who thinks their fellow Americans deserve to die on the daily is a real issue, even if the radical DSA candidates wholly agree. You have to get power first, then be as radical as you like later. Winning an election comes before abusing the office.
They can't exactly do that if Piker is inspiring cold feet.
If you ask me, Piker is a great opportunity, and I don't just mean to shine a more truthful light on the Democrats, but to really highlight the radicalization in leftist establishments as well, from D.C. to the NYT.
I think the people need to see the extent of the infection. So my recommendation is to do what conservatism has done so well lately. Give Piker the megaphone, let him stand side by side with Democrats, and make sure he's heard far and wide. At that point, Democrats will either be forced to back Piker or completely disavow him and split the Democrats in half.
