In my last VIP article, I went over this really thought-provoking video I found from a young girl who runs a YouTube channel called "The War on Beauty," where she details how we've become less and less educated over time, partly thanks to the fact that we've lost our grasp on the English language. We understand fewer words of our own language, effectively cutting us off from our own history, making "the past a foreign country" and the English they spoke "a foreign language."

As I was wrapping up that article, a New York Post article dropped into my X feed that felt almost serendipitous. It detailed far-left podcaster Jennifer Welch going apoplectic about homeschooling. She didn't say anything new about it that we haven't already heard from the Left, but having just written the article I did, I felt vindicated and angry.
As reported by the Post, Welch's rant began with a caller who has the same tired outlook every other leftist has:
Their comments were in response to a caller to the show complaining about “morons attempting to homeschool their children” when they “probably shouldn’t have even had children to start with.”
[Welch's podcast co-host Angie] Sullivan quickly seized on the caller’s comments, remarking that she worries about “people in Bible study” homeschooling their kids.
“I just think homeschooling is a bad idea, from soup to nuts,” Sullivan said.
Warning: Welch comments below contain coarse language
Welch's next comments grossed me out. She effectively says that anyone who wants to be around their children all the time is "weird as f---," and that she would crawl to the public school on her hands and knees with her children strapped to her back to get them away from her if she had to.
Of course, this serious expression of love for children is followed up by accusations pushed on people who actually do love their children:
Welch accused parents who choose to homeschool of attempting to “project a script onto their kids” and claimed they were incapable of critical thinking.
“This is trickle-down stupidity. This is MAGA on steroids. This is MAHA. This is tradwife. This is unvaxxed and unjacked and all that s—. This is the worst, worst, worst,” Welch said.
The far-left podcaster argued that homeschooling was part of America’s “fundamental crazy Christian problem,” suggesting it was essentially child abuse.
As annoying as they are, I sincerely appreciate people like Welch and other creatures you'd find on shows like "The View." The left loves to hide its intent behind flowery, misleading language, so it's nice to hear what they think without the Overton window dressing.
I want to show you some responses to The New York Post's article on X before I continue, because they really help with the point I'm about to make. As you can see, homeschooling is insanely beneficial for children as they far exceed their public school counterparts in so many ways.

In terms of education, homeschooled children are better off. This isn't a question. It's documented.
If the Left truly cared about kids getting smarter and having a solid foundation for their futures, as they often like to claim, then they'd be cheerleading homeschooling without reservation.
But the Left hates it. Welch told us why without telling us why.
I mean, she told us she hates Christians who want to raise their children as Christians, but what she also told us was how the Left sees education. To them, it's not a way to elevate a mind. They see it as a way to conquer one. They want the education system to raise the child and program it, the same way every dictator throughout history has approached achieving full control over their countries.
"Let me control the textbooks, and I will control the state," said Adolf Hitler.
I wasn't taught that he said that in school, by the way. I had to learn that on my own. If many a blue-state school district had their way, that phrase by that person would never be heard again. Once you figure out that the Left's pearl-clutching about Nazism is because they hate seeing themselves in the mirror, it all starts coming together, and you can't risk the youth learning that hard truth. They might put down the textbook and pick up more dangerous fare... like "The Screwtape Letters" or anything above a 5th grade reading level.
I've said before that the Left will wage a war on homeschooling, and that prediction is still one I stand by heartily. To them, your child or grandchild isn't your child; it's theirs, you just don't know it yet. They're going to try to get to them through the media or through higher education, but that's a gamble. The real aim is to get them when they're too young to understand that the devil is a liar.
