The Disappearance of ‘Stochastic Terrorism’ Is Notable As the Trump 2.0 Era Brings About Leftist Violence

If ever there has been an example that typifies the terms “pearl clutching” or “drop onto the fainting couch,” it has to do with Democrats' cries about the promise of political violence. Ever since Donald Trump first rose to office in 2017, the Left has long been promising steady amounts of attacks from the Right. This is why January 6 is regarded as a national holiday by the media; they finally had their shining example.

But after years of this assured wave of violence, the Right has been a supreme disappointment, and so something needed to be done to “prove” the Right was a faction of intolerant attacks. Enter into the media vernacular a preferred term, “stochastic violence.” This became a way for the accusatory press to legitimize their promises by implicating political targets as responsible for random acts.

When a shooter attacked a grocery store in Buffalo, killing 10, the press leapt into action. This could not be an act of a deranged individual. No, this loon was inspired to act out entirely due to the words of those in conservative circles. Tucker Carlson was especially singled out, but the broader conservative messaging was also called out as guilty parties. Now, if you are wondering exactly who was promoting the shooting of grocery shoppers from conservative media, the answer will be no one. Obviously. But this is where stochasticism comes into play.

While this study in science and math is built around randomness and probability, when it is used in the press, it morphs into a way of “proving” responsibility when no actual proof exists. Charges of stochastic terrorism work in the same fashion as “racist dog whistles”; it is a way of accusing someone or an entity as guilty, absent tangible evidence of your accusation. Just as you do not have to say something offensive to become racist, you likewise do not have to come close to suggesting people lash out in order to become guilty of inspiring violent acts.

Chaya Richik of the Libs of TikTok account has been on the receiving end of the most stochastic accusations. When she points out that a hospital, for instance, is performing gender reassignment surgeries on minors and that location later receives a bomb threat, she is blamed for inciting this violence in a stochastic fashion. When Target stores in 2023 became a controversy for selling transgender clothing for youths, many locations received threats, and it was said conservative stochastic terrorism was in play. When it was revealed that most of those were derived from overseas, and some even came from trans-sympathizing sources because the stores capitulated, those accusations evaporated.

And in similar fashion today we see no such reports emerging from the press, despite the disturbing reality of definable violence breaking out across the country. We have seen Tesla dealerships firebombed in numerous states, and incidents of individual drivers becoming physically threatened and attacked are rising. Somehow, the Democrats who have routinely demonized Tesla’s owner, Elon Musk, are never said to be fostering this violence.

The very press that loves to throw this accusation freely have instead been participating in this encouragement. When Donald Trump and AG Pam Bondi announced they would prosecute these offenders as domestic terrorists, the table was set for the press to follow through with their preferred narrative. Instead, they have tried to reclassify this violence as merely a form of protest.  Just on Wednesday, Sister Toldjah reports on Senate leader Chuck Schumer refusing to condemn the violence seen targeting Tesla, the very sign of the stochastic charges.

The examples of Democrats encouraging this behavior are becoming legion. There is the Democrat strategist circling Mar-A-Lago on a map and encouraging Iran to attack the location. A woman recently punched a pro-life journalist in a street interview. Jasmine Crocket has outwardly discussed that Elon Musk had “to be taken down” and that Ted Cruz should be “knocked over the head, hard.”

Democrats being guilty of stochastic terrorism is due to a technicality. These being more overt forms of call to violence fall closer in category to “scripted violence”, that is, when a person in a position of power compels others to act out on their behalf. Some form of “What somebody should go out there and do…” is in play.

What is evident is the lack of hand-wringing over this violence when it emanates from the Left. The Democrats are serving up the veiled marching orders, and the press is doing the job of delivering appropriate amounts of permissiveness. And one other trademarked action is in play while they continue to accuse those on the Right of being the insightful ones – projection.
