Legacy Media Mostly Turns a Blind Eye to Jasmine Crockett's Vile Insults, Calls to Violence

Yes, we’ve heard enough about the Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, the insult-spewing, trash-talking Democrat who’s been making a name for herself for calling for political violence and hurling cruel insults, like calling wheelchair bound Texas Gov. Greg Abbott “Gov. Hot Wheels.” It’s truly disturbing behavior, and you would think every decent-minded person would decry it since she’s a sitting member of Congress.

If you get your news from the legacy media, however, you may have never heard of the stories and her antics. Meanwhile, we haven’t needed to write a story about any Democrats making impassioned speeches rejecting violence and pleading for a return to some sense of decorum. That’s because there really haven’t been any. Violence is fine—when it’s on their side.

I scanned through some of the more prominent news websites this morning—a search on the front pages of CNN, the NY Times, and others for “Crockett” turned up nada. The Washington Post, to be fair, had a story about the “Hot Wheels” remark buried deep down on its splash page. (Of course, instead of repudiating what she said, they went with the ole "came under fire from Republicans" angle.)

And do you think the networks care? Nope:

In an interview that aired Sunday on NBC’s Dallas-Fort Worth-area affiliate KXAS and went viral on X Monday, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) talked repeatedly about wanting to beat up and repeatedly “punch” Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz.

Leaving aside her sudden code switching in the last year, the incendiary rhetoric is the sort of thing ABC, CBS, and NBC would look to call out if the parties were reversed. Unsurprisingly, they ignored it on their flagship Monday evening and Tuesday morning news shows, thus giving their tacit approval. CNN and MSNBC were also uninterested.

In case you missed it, here are Crockett’s threats to Cruz:

I — think that you punch. I think you punch. I think with — you — you okay with punching. You know, I think — and I love Colin [Allred], and I think, towards the end, he started to punch a little harder, But, like, it Ted Cruz. I mean, like, this dude has to be knocked over the head, like hard, right? Like, there is no niceties with him. Like, it all. Like, you — you go clean off on him, right?

Don’t wait for the “Most Trusted Name in News” to tell you about it, because you’ll be waiting a long time:

There were only two tertiary mentions of Crockett’s incendiary rhetoric coming on CNN, courtesy of The Arena host Kasie and then former MSNBC host Tiffany Cross on CNN Thunderdome (aka CNN NewsNight), but both alluded to Crockett also having said “all I want for my birthday is for Elon [Musk] to be taken down.”

As I’ve written, I think Crockett’s behavior is an act because she’s well-educated, comes from a good family, and appears to be perfectly well-off. Whether she's playing a character or not, however it’s unbecoming (to say the least) and clearly beneath the office of a United States representative.

Once again, the biased, corrupt/legacy/corrupt press only cares about such things when Republicans are caught behaving badly. When it’s Democrats, it’s "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil."

That’s why no one trusts them anymore.
