Stephanie Ruhle's Behavior in Biden Interview Was Absolutely Shameless

As RedState reported, Joe Biden conducted what he described as a “major press conference” on Friday evening. Of course, there was no actual press conference. That was just the president’s senility flaring up when he made that announcement earlier in the day to a highly confused press corps.

In reality, Biden did another slobbering interview on MSNBC, this time with Stephanie Ruhle. You may remember her as the anchor who claimed it was a “dirty little secret” that Americans can afford nine percent inflation (see: The Most Tone-Deaf Response to the Inflation Crisis Imaginable Goes Forth). Apparently, you silly gooses have just been hiding your vast wealth this whole time.

But I digress, while Biden’s answers in the interview are already going viral, I found Ruhle’s behavior as an interviewer just as interesting. In short, her performance was absolutely shameless.

Let’s start with this question on the debt ceiling.

RUHLE: As I said, you have a very strong economic recovery story, but this is a very volatile Congress. There are members of Congress that might be okay with us defaulting because they think it could hurt you politically. Given that, are you prepared to invoke the 14th Amendment and blow through the debt ceiling?

In his answer, Biden goes on to repeat his much-used throwaway line “This is not your father’s Republican party,” to which Ruhle affirms with a jubilant “No sir.” Her comical bias is on full display throughout the exchange, but it’s the framing of the question that is truly incredible.

According to Ruhle, it’s Republicans in Congress who are threatening to default on the debt simply to harm Biden politically. That’s the complete opposite of reality, though. It is Republicans in Congress who have already passed a bill to avoid a debt ceiling default. If Biden chooses to veto it, he would be the one causing a default. Ruhle doesn’t even bother to couch her question in any semblance of truth.

Then there was this exchange, in which Biden’s brain starts to melt down. Look at Ruhle’s reaction.

In the clip, even as the president’s mental degradation shows itself front and center, Ruhle is smiling like a schoolgirl, as if she’s hearing the most brilliant answer to ever grace a politician’s lips. Biden fumbled over his words multiple times in just a few seconds, but he might as well have been delivering the Gettysburg Address as far as Ruhle was concerned. It’s pretty clear at this point why the White House limits the president’s interviews to doting partisans.

Lastly, to make the point further, there was this interruption of the interview by a staffer.

Ruhle doesn’t even flinch as a staffer interjects in the middle of her interview to try to police a question and answer. I mean, come on. Is that supposed to be normal? Does MSNBC have no standards at all? And just how in control was the White House over this interview? Because it seems like the thing was entirely scripted, and MSNBC was happy to play along.

As I said at the beginning, it’s just shameless. You’d think the press could at least pretend to not be totally in the tank, but they don’t even bother anymore.
