I remember once, about 15-20 years ago, inviting a friend to a Fourth of July parade at a neighborhood park. She and her gal pal showed up with bloody little toy soldiers pinned to their shirts.
I was gobsmacked by how far our worldviews had diverged. Maybe they were never that close, but this marked a turning point. She said to me, “Don’t you think the U.S. should, you know… tone it down a little? Show a little more humility?”
My reaction: Hell no. (Actually it was "*#$% no," but we're a respectable outlet.)
We had Barack Obama for that, bowing to foreign leaders and constantly ragging on our history despite the fact that we were, and continue to be, as long as the communists don’t succeed in their ongoing attempted takeover, the greatest country the world has ever seen. We’ve seen the Jimmy Carters and the Joe Bidens, who seemed to think that malaise and gradual managed decline were the way forward.

Do you remember Kamala Harris’ widely derided “joy” campaign during the 2024 presidential election season? She came across as a giggling mental lightweight as she tried to convince the electorate that her artificial exuberance, which often made her appear as if she were higher than a kite, somehow made her a suitable candidate for the presidency.
If you can watch one of her many posts on social media at the time about her supposed endless optimism without cringing, you’re a better person than I.

It’s even harder to stomach when you realize that many, if not most, of her supporters were professional grievance mongers who despised Donald Trump’s Make America Great message and wanted to Balkanize our country into the aggrieved and the more aggrieved, whether it be about race, gender identity, so-called “privilege,” and whatever else they could think of.
Look at the party of Gloom and Doom today: despite the mind-bending advances in super intelligence (Trump’s new term for artificial intelligence), they doom-post that we’re all going to die from the technology and we need to shut it down now. They ignore the fact that it probably can’t be stopped — and Russia and China aren’t suddenly going to walk away from it. We should be using our great American technological prowess to harness the tech and place safeguards on it; shutting it down is ludicrous.
Meanwhile, in California, it seems as if the Democrats and the socialists want to take us backward in time. Many call themselves "progressives," but in reality they reject progress and try to thwart it. We now have appliances, including air conditioning, that have made our lives infinitely better. Their response? Shame you for using it. Tax the hell out of it. Ban it if they can. Take us back in time.
New York is also a bastion of progressivism, but I’ll give them one compliment here: You can take a shower there and get wet in less than five minutes. When you flush the toilet, it actually works. I was just there, and that part of my journey was glorious. In California, not only do we pay some of the highest rates in the nation for our H2O, but the mandated feeble water pressure is a joke. Want to drive this fabulous new invention called the automobile? You’ll pay approximately two dollars more per gallon for gas than most states because of regulation and taxes.
"Joy" to leftists means punishing you, the American people.
The Democrats bring a worldview of division, strife, pain, and sadness.
Contrast that to the Republicans under Donald Trump. He has worked constantly to make our nation’s capital beautiful again, and what do Democrats do every step of the way? Shriek, complain, and try to stop him. (See: All It Takes Is a New President: Take a Look at DC's Columbus Circle Then and Now.)
Children and pregnancies, life’s gifts that the Left often frowns upon or mocks, are a prominent feature in the White House and the administration. Looking professional and ready to do the job for the job are emphasized, while some crazed liberals say focusing on your health is an example of white supremacism.
I was recently on hand for the Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas, and the optimism and hope were everywhere — although there was plenty of warning about what will happen if the Dems take back the wheels of power: open borders, endless investigations, and impeachments. This is what they stand for. (See: Memories and Takeaways From the GOP Midterm Convention.)
This was the most powerful speech yet from the RNC, maybe of the entire year. RFK Jr. was masterful.

And so, America, this is the choice we face come November 3: Do we want to continue moving into the future, or do we want to go backward and root for our nation’s decline, citizens resenting each other over imagined grievances, and “toning it down” on the world stage?
No, the Republican Party is not perfect — a fact proven by the failure to pass the SAVE America Act despite the fact that we hold three branches of government — but I’d rather live under them than under the grim, guilt-ridden, backward-looking, every-day-is-a-rainy-day Democrats.
Most leftists won’t be happy unless you’re unhappy, and that’s a hell of an awful way to live life.
