Didn’t liberals tell us in 2022 that the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v Wade would be a disaster for the pro-abortion crowd and would crush the freedoms of women all over the country?
The reality, however, that the hysterical leftists didn’t tell you is that it handed down the matter to the states, and abortion was not made suddenly illegal. States can tighten restrictions or ease them as they see fit, and now one blue enclave is taking the matter just about to the limit. Take it any further, and it would become first-degree murder.
The state is Massachusetts, and its governor signed a bill on Monday that would let what Democrats call “birthing people” terminate pregnancies right up until they’re born. Then, and then only, are their lives magically worth saving.
Massachusetts now joins nine other states plus the District of Columbia — Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon and Vermont — in achieving the dubious "success" of removing gestational age limits.
Disgustingly, this measure is seen as a “legislative win” by the leftist Boston Globe:
Governor Maura Healey on Monday signed legislation to make it easier for women to receive an abortion later in their pregnancies, making Massachusetts’ laws among the country’s broadest and handing the governor a legislative win as she wages her re-election bid.
The now-law, which lawmakers sent to Healey’s desk in the final hours of their last scheduled formal session last month, reshapes the rules for how women can terminate their pregnancies at 24 weeks or after. State law used to allow abortion at that stage only under specific circumstances, including to preserve a patient’s life.
The new law leaves the decision to end a pregnancy entirely to “the professional judgment of a physician.”
I hope that physician isn’t someone like Dr. Kermit Gosnell.

Notice that Governor Healey didn’t use the word that Democrats used to love to throw around: rare. That no longer seems to be a priority.
“We believe that healthcare decisions should be made between women and families and their doctors, not politicians,” Healey said at the bill-signing ceremony. “Abortion will remain safe, it will remain legal, and it will remain accessible here in Massachusetts.”

The Bay State already allowed abortions to proceed up till 24 weeks — now they need to stretch it all the way past the time when babies are potentially viable outside the womb? The abortion crowd truly has become a culture of death. What the Globe calls a “legislative win” will just mean more babies that will never breathe or taste life.
