I admit it, I’m a fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger—at least as an entertainer. He starred in what I consider to be one of the most perfect sci-fi films of all time, “The Terminator,” and he’s had box-office smashes with comedies and action films alike.
When he ran for California governor as a Republican in 2003, I was enthused—what a nice change of pace for the Left Coast—but when he won, his gubernatorial tenure was mixed at best. Unfortunately, in recent years, he’s sounded a lot more like a progressive Democrat than a conservative, just one more potential hero who valued the favor of the mainstream press and the progressives over doing what’s right.
A Wrong Turn: HOT TAKES: 'Terminator' Squashed on Social Media for Ridiculous Kamala Endorsement
Message to Arnold Schwarzenegger: 'Get To Da Choppah!' And Head Back to Austria!
His take on the LA riots, delivered on the odious Jimmy Kimmel show Wednesday, exposed just how far he has drifted from his former convictions and bought into the leftist narrative:
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is still claiming to be a Republican, blames the LA riots on not passing "comprehensive immigration reform," telling Jimmy Kimmel, "But this wouldn't happen if the politicians would do their work. Think about it...For decades, almost four decades, we… pic.twitter.com/UuO9sCYl5C

Where to start with his ridiculous ponderings? For one, he thoroughly buys into the gaslighting b.s. that just because all of LA isn’t burning, then none of it is. Only “maybe 0.001% of the area of Los Angeles has problems," he opined.
That take has been thoroughly nuked:
The Infantile Idiocy of the 'It's Only a Small Part of LA' Argument (VIP)
Just because one of your Brentwood mansions isn’t on fire doesn’t mean that many, many people aren't being affected, or that downtown LA (DTLA) isn’t in fact a war zone. We’re talking about the center of the second-most populous city in the nation, and it’s currently a no-go area for most people, but that’s just fine with him? That doesn't sound like America to me.
“Many parts of Ukraine are peaceful today,” one could argue. Thus, there is no war and suffering going on. That seems to be the message that Arnold and the left have hung their hats on.
In this diatribe, he seems to have purposely avoided the news:
"But this wouldn't happen if the politicians would do their work. Think about it...For decades, almost four decades, we have had a problem where they talked about immigration reform. Comprehensive immigration reform. But the Democrats and the Republicans, both of the parties, have no interest in solving this problem because they use that to raise money...Think about that. I mean, the Democrats, donkey. Republicans, elephant. And the donkey's a jackass. And of course, wherever the big animal goes leaves a pile of dump, right? I mean, it's -- the symbols say it all."
It’s good for a soundbite that CNN and the New York Times will eat up, but it’s totally out of touch with reality. Donald Trump shut down the border crisis within minutes of taking office, and illegal crossings are at historic lows. It wasn’t about more laws; it was about the will to enforce them, and Trump has done exactly that.
I like Ah-Nold, he’s a cultural icon and has earned his place in Hollywood history. As a politician and pundit, however, he has thoroughly lost his way and turned into another ignorant, fact-avoiding “personality” who desperately wants good notice from the LA and Washington, DC press.
Sad.
Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."
