The Walls Are Closing In! Rachel Maddow's Latest TDS-Riddled Rant Seems to Come From Another Planet

MSNBC pundit Rachel Maddow used to hold a lot of clout during the president's previous administration. Her nightly anti-Trump diatribes earned her a loyal (if deluded) fan base and millions of dollars. In Trump’s second go-around, however, she’s much less prominent as she has decided to earn her bloated salary by doing only one show a week, and her network has become all but irrelevant after they’ve been repeatedly exposed as mouthpieces of the DNC who peddle in misinformation.

“The walls are closing in!” their pundits used to shout at virtually every opportunity. They never did quite finish closing in, however, and Trump is now president again, so that doesn’t do much for their credibility.

But Maddow is still foaming-at-the-mouth Maddow, and on Monday she delivered one of her trademark monologues that appeared to have no basis in reality. “Game over, big guy,” she said of Trump. “You lose." Considering the president has been on an epic winning streak since November ’24, it’s not exactly a resounding message.

She was speaking of his response to the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots, but if it’s game over for anyone, it's Mayor Karen Bass and Gov. Gavin Newsom, who are being exposed as unable to run a lemonade stand, much less a city and state. Newsom posted a video Tuesday where he looked like a hostage as he begged the courts to step in, but to Maddow, it’s Trump who’s panicking:

I’m not sure what world she’s living in, but the one she depicted is somewhere far far away in another galaxy:

"He has no idea what to do with the sustained and growing and intractable and indomitable protest and opposition of the American people against him. And so he has decided to try to fix it by using the army. Sure. Game over, big guy. You lose. The movement against Trump is unstoppable, now more than ever," Maddow said on her once-a-week show.

Maddow argued that Trump's decision to send in the National Guard and U.S. Marines to help with the anti-ICE demonstrations in LA was a sign that he was falling apart.

"What we are seeing right now in California is a president panicking. We have never before in the history of the US presidency, seen a president who is less popular than this one at this point in his term. And we have never seen a president less politically skilled, less politically equipped than this one to turn that kind of problem around, and so he has panicked, he is trying to hit the eject button," she said.

During her rant, she seemed to go out of her way to ignore reality. The numbers, you see, say the exact opposite of what she’s alleging.

Meanwhile, “the sustained and growing and intractable and indomitable protest and opposition” has largely been a failure this time around, as the Resistance has shown themselves to be impotent, unpopular, and devoid of ideas.

Maddow always has been bombastic and cringeworthy to watch, but this one seems extra special because it’s just so delusional. She has a pair of twos, and she thinks that’s somehow a winning hand against a dude holding a full house.

Joe Biden lost the presidential election on November 5, but MSNBC lost any relevancy. That was a good day all around.
