Ah, Democrats. They truly are at sea at this moment.
They've painted President Donald Trump as Hitler for the last ten years, and the American people powerfully rejected that, again, in November. The Democrats are more unpopular than ever, with numbers in the 20s. They're even losing many of the 18-29-year-olds, a group in the past on which they could reliably count.
Then they started doing things like wedding themselves to illegal aliens with their positions on Kilmar Abrego Garcia and the arrest of a judge in Wisconsin who allegedly helped an illegal alien evade arrest by federal agents. Could they do anything to make their situation worse?

Now they have another idea. I'm not sure who came up with this one.
House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) are sitting on the steps of Congress livestreaming a “conversation with the American people to focus on our common values, our faith traditions and the moral moment facing our nation.”
Jeffries/Booker now on the Capitol steps, livestreaming a “conversation with the American people to focus on our common values, our faith traditions and the moral moment facing our nation.”

Just sat down on the Capitol Steps with my good friend @SenBooker to have a real conversation about the dangerous situation we confront in America.

And what we can all do to stop it.

They are trying the virtue-signaling gambit, suggesting they have the same values and faith traditions, so they can be trusted. Notice Jeffries' cross. Check this out, if you can sit all the way through it and get past Jeffries' continually moving hands.

They say the Gospel is about standing up for the poor and the left behind.
The Gospel is about Jesus. Yes, Jesus asks us to care about the poor, but the Gospel is about Jesus. They, of course, talk about leftist "liberation theology." Even in trying to talk about religion, they still can't avoid slipping in some leftist thought.
You're not supposed to be there to preach at us. You're supposed to be there to pass laws beneficial to Americans. You guys helped to make more people poor under Joe Biden, as we were crushed by Democrat policies that drove up inflation.
I think this is supposed to be directed against the budget bill, but Jeffries doesn't even say that in his X announcement of their "sit-in." Booker does and tries whipping up fear about cuts to benefits again, and lying about Project 2025.
This is a moral moment in America. Sitting on the Capitol steps with Leader Hakeem Jeffries this morning to discuss what’s at stake with Trump’s budget and affirm the need for action to protect Medicaid, food assistance, and other safety net programs. https://t.co/6md6u5H0Ja

So it's another rambling exercise like Booker's 25 hours of nothing on the Senate floor.

And guys? You helped create the dangerous situation that Trump now has to clean up by not protecting the border. It's Democrats who are going over the slide when it comes to norms, as we see with their embracing of illegal aliens.
But what's truly funny about this effort is that they claim this is a "conversation" and they want people to join them.
Then maybe you shouldn't disable the comments and chat on YouTube. That prevents people from commenting on what they think of this silly exercise. It shows you don't want to hear what people think, and you know the reaction isn't going to be positive.

Even as they attack President Trump and the Republicans, they show just how different they are. Trump takes all kinds of questions, even from hostile media. He's not afraid of that — he will fire right back at them. That's fighting, that's sticking up for principle.
This is just posturing, and all they're getting is a few of their own Democrats to join them.
Listen as Booker refers to "I'm just a bill" while he talks to AFT head Randi Weingarten. Can their numbers go lower?
Lord have mercy 🤣 pic.twitter.com/rl0muMQSf7

I think they're going to go lower.
