Why Does Tough Guy Tom Homan Get So Emotional? His Answer Will Bring Tears to Your Eyes

We’ve reported many stories on tough guy Border Czar Tom Homan—who RedState’s Ward Clark likes to call “The Hammer”—and how his non-nonsense, we're-not-playing-games-here approach to the border and illegal aliens has helped lead to a historic decline in “undocumented persons” entering our country. This after Joe Biden opened the floodgates and let in millions by his depraved refusal to enforce the laws of the land.

As RedState’s Nick Arama reported Monday, Homan joined White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt at the podium in the White House press briefing room and touted the incredible success the administration has achieved in shutting down the southern border and deporting thousands of illegal alien gangbangers and murderers to their home country (or, alternatively, to the El Salvador mega-prison CECOT).

Homan does not come across as someone you would want to mess with, and he could probably make a solid living playing some sort of enforcer in Hollywood movies. It turns out, however, that at his core he’s actually a softie who cares about people—and protecting them.

Speaking at the press briefing, “The Hammer” divulged why he does what he does. Asked by an over-dramatic, gesticulating reporter about the lives he’s uprooting by deporting and repatriating violent criminals, Homan spoke from the heart:

The morale of ICE and Border Patrol is at all-time high because they're getting to uphold the oath they took, and they're enforcing the law. Border Patrol [during the] the Biden administration, I met with hundreds of them they felt like Uber drivers and tourist agents.

These men and women join the ranks of ICE and Border Patrol to enforce the law make the community safer and protect national security.

And he doesn’t give a damn what people think of him, because he knows in his gut he's doing the right thing:

I hear it all the time. There's a lot of people in this country [who] don't like me.

I don't care.

When I walk to an airport, I have many people walking up to me and thank[ing] me for my what I'm doing, and I'm not taking credit for anything. The success of the border and immigration enforcement, it's President Trump and the men and women wearing that uniform.

God bless each and every one of them. But I take a pleasure in seeing it because in 40 years of doing this job people always want to say, "Why are you so emotional on when you testify, why are you so emotional on network [TV]?"

Because if they wore my shoes for 40 years they'd understand why I'm emotional.

It was here that Homan got to the real humanity of the matter, the part Democrats who are busy lobbying for Kilmar Abrego Garcia can’t seem to understand—the heartbreaking human toll at the center of this ongoing tragedy:

I've talked to little girls as young as nine years old who are raped multiple times by the cartel members, and when you get to your knees and you talk to that little girl and everything innocent and pure has been ripped from her?

When you listen to Laken Riley… 17 minutes, that young lady fighting for her life?

Don't just think, okay, a young woman died, think of how she died—the terror that she went through—and these children are sexually assaulted. I stood in back of a tractor trailer and 19 dead people at my feet that baked to death.

Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime, and so every sick person we take off the streets—especially child rapists—it makes this country much safer.

This is powerful stuff, and I wish we could make Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas listen to it over and over again.

Tom Homan is not some cyborg determined to ruin the lives of people for no reason; he’s a man who’s seen many wrongs and is doing his part to right them. His powerful words in my estimation are as good as any argument I’ve seen as to why President Trump and his team are trying to put an end to this ongoing human tragedy.

Joe Biden, the Democrats, and their cohorts in the media have tried to portray themselves as “compassionate” and looking out for the downtrodden. What they’ve done in reality, however, is allow evil to flourish in this country, and if it takes a tough-talking but righteous man to put an end to it, then so be it.
