One thing liberals never seem to understand: The radicals will come for you eventually, no matter which side of the fence you sit on. Harvard University, once considered the gold standard of higher education, is now barely recognizable as it has undergone a complete transformation into a leftist propaganda outfit.

But turn left, and sooner or later, the left will turn on you.

Harvard has seen extreme pro-Hamas, anti-Israel sentiment infect its soul, but they earned it because of the students they admit and the professors they hire. The Israel-Hamas war has only exposed the “progressive” decay that has taken over, but it was already deeply embedded.

Now, the rot has been further exposed as over 100 Harvard professors signed an open letter early this week condemning the university’s president for her statement on antisemitism. Wait, you say—they are unhappy with a statement that condemned hate? Yes. That’s it exactly.

As Harvard faculty, we have been astonished by the pressure from donors, alumni and even some on this campus to silence faculty, students and staff critical of the actions of the State of Israel.

It is important to acknowledge the patronizing tone and format of much of the criticism you have received, as well as the outright racism contained in some of it.

University president Claudine Gay came under fire from donors and pro-Israel critics for her lack of response to the actions of pro-Hamas students on campus, who have harassed Jewish students and blamed the unprovoked Oct. 7 attacks on… Israel. When Gay realized she had a problem on her hands, she belatedly issued her statement:

Last Friday, Gay announced the formation of the new advisory board at a Harvard-hosted Hillel Shabbat dinner during Family Weekend for the junior and freshman classes, campus newspaper The Harvard Crimson reported.

With more than 200 Jewish students and their family members in attendance, Gay admitted that “antisemitism has a very long and shameful history at Harvard,” referring to past anti-Israel acts before the war even broke out, including a 2018 incident where a swastika was found on a school bulletin board.

“For years, this University has done too little to confront its continuing presence,” Gay continued. “No longer.”

In their response, the professors used a lot of academic language—in fact, it reads like a particularly boring thesis paper—but they lose the plot when they try to defend the phrase, “from the river to the sea,” which basically calls for the elimination of Israel from the planet. They write:

Similarly, the phrase "from the river to the sea, Palestine must be free" has a long and complicated history. Its interpretation deserves, and is receiving, sustained and ongoing inquiry and debate.

Sure, guys. Except that a former Hamas leader made it crystal clear what he means:

“Palestine is ours from the river to the sea and from the south to the north,” Khaled Mashaal, the group’s former leader, said in a 2012 speech in Gaza celebrating the 25th anniversary of the founding of Hamas, the Associated Press reported.

Look at a map, and you'll understand that that means the elimination of the Jewish state.

Higher “elite” education in this country is, for the most part, broken, with schools focusing on DEI, CRT, transgenderism, identity politics, and now pro-Hamas sentiment instead of actual learning and focusing on how students can get jobs and become productive members of society.
