After Trump's Super Tuesday Victories, Here Is the Media's Latest Campaign Strategy

You have to love it when Donald Trump does or says something that makes the left and the media go absolutely crazy, and they are reduced to running around in circles chasing their tails. It is so much fun to watch — a conservative guilty pleasure.

Trump's Super Tuesday running of the delegate table put that process into overdrive. Now, as Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee for President, and everything else that has been thrown at him just isn't working as they had hoped, they are down to small-arms fire that includes things like a tit-for-tat evaluation of Trump's mental acuity and running on issues that could not be further out of touch with the American people, and each installment is deliciously better than the last.

The first example of "Don't believe your lyin' eyes when it comes to Trump" comes from MSNBC national affairs analyst John Heilemann. On Tuesday night's "Deadline," his "expert" assessment of Trump voters is that they "lack energy." He talked about this perceived lack of energy, going "out in the world." Define "out in the world." Did he actually leave the East Coast and go somewhere real people live, like Ohio or Missouri? Did he dig his passport out of his sock drawer and maybe go as far as Kansas or Nebraska? I am going to take a chance and say no. While he was presumably abroad in flyover country, he pointed out a lack of yard signs. Hey, Heilemann, in many places, you are not allowed to display yard signs until about a month out from the election. So much for his trip "out in the world." He talked about the turnout at Trump rallies being "not great, and "the Trump movement isn't what it once was." A recent Trump rally near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was held at a venue that holds 3,000 people. Trump also spoke to people in at least two overflow lots outside the venue.

My colleague Mike Miller wrote about a blunt observation that Fox News Channel's Brit Hume made during Tuesday night's coverage. he stated that Joe Biden is "palpably senile...and the country sees it." But the Democrats' media stenographers are going to do their best to make you think it is Trump who is losing his marbles. A recent headline from the online Salon Magazine states, "Trump is Degenerating Before our Eyes - MAGA Voters Don't Notice or Don't Care." They go on to claim that Trump "...forgot what he was talking about despite the teleprompter" and claimed Trump forgot that Barack Obama had not been president for eight years. Donald Trump has several events daily. Joe Biden invoked the Cookie Monster, as if he was real during a meeting on Tuesday, and apparently had another brain freeze, where he could not complete a sentence. I'll take a bit of rambling over brain check-out from the person with the nuclear codes any day.

Then there is election strategy. Tuesday's exit polls showed that Republican voters are most concerned about the things that affect them every day. The out-of-control immigration crisis is more and more not just a border-state issue, and the polls bear that out. Of the GOP voters polled, 44 percent of them said immigration is the most important issue for them, followed by 28 percent who said the economy was most important. The number one issue for Democrat voters — abortion at 27 percent, followed by the economy at 25 percent, and education at 11 percent. It's getting expensive for liberals to eat, too.

Being well aware of Joe Biden's disastrous record, Democrats are thinking the winning strategy will be abortion, January 6, and, of course, "democracy!" Even that bit of insanity got a snarky response from former Obama advisor David Axelrod, who said in a recent interview with the "New Yorker, “I’m pretty certain in Scranton they’re not sitting around their dinner table talking about democracy every night."

And as far as immigration is concerned, minor detail, really. Rep. Brad Sherman told NewsNation on Tuesday when he was asked about any executive order on immigration Joe Biden might issue, well, that's easy, just blame Trump for killing the Senate border bill, and voila, problem solved. He added, "That's all you need to say." Sure, Brad, that should work for Laken Riley's family and any other Americans who have lost family members to illegal immigrants. Great idea.

These are just the latest examples from the Democrat Party campaign arm known as the media, and it's only March. Imagine where this bunch will be mentally by August. More hilarity will no doubt ensue.
