On Sunday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) took to X to announce that a senior Hezbollah commander, one Ali Mussa Daqduq, has had his birth certificate permanently revoked. The planet is now a safer, cleaner place without this guy walking around.

The post reads:
ELIMINATED: Ali Musa Daqduq, a senior Hezbollah commander who held a series of 5 senior positions within Hezbollah.
Daqduq played a central role in advancing terrorist attacks and combat operations against Israel and IDF soldiers. In 2007, he orchestrated the kidnapping and murder of 5 American soldiers.
The image in the X post notes that this goblin:
- Held a series of senior positions within Hezbollah and, over the years, played a central role in advancing terrorist attacks against the State of Israel and IDF soldiers.
- Commanded the "Golan Terrorist Network," a terrorist cell responsible for Hezbollah's enrichment in Syria and the establishment of military infrastructure near the Israeli border
- Over the past several years, led much of Hezbollah's operational planning against ICF soldiers
- Orchestrated the kidnapping and murder of five American soldiers.
The IDF X post doesn't mention the exact means used to unalive Daqduq, but we know that the IDF has a wide range of means at its disposal, and that they are pretty good at applying them.

The Times of Israel has a few more details:
Senior Hezbollah commander Ali Mussa Daqduq, mastermind of a January 2007 attack that killed five US troops in Iraq, was killed in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon over the weekend, the IDF announced Sunday.
Daqduq was reported in November 2024 to have been killed in an Israeli strike in Syria, but he apparently survived.
According to the military, Daqduq was killed by an Israeli strike south of the Litani River in Lebanon on Friday.
Not a lot more detail, mind you, but that language - a "strike" - makes it sound like this was an air strike, something the IDF is pretty good at, and an effective way of turning bad terrorists into good terrorists.
This was a guy with a lot of blood on his hands. His rise in the ranks would indicate that he's a bit smarter than the usual run of self-detonating useful idiots that groups like Hezbollah generally employ to do their dirty work, and those few extra IQ points make him an even more key target; or, we should say, they did make him an even more key target, as opposed to what he is now, which is likely scattered across a wide area.
Once again, Israel would seem to have proved the truth of an American military saying: There is no problem that cannot be resolved with the suitable application of high explosives.
