As the late, great Paul Harvey used to say, it's not one world. Freedoms we take for granted here in the United States, like the freedom to speak our minds, just don't exist in other parts of the world, like Iran.
Iran is reportedly set to execute, by hanging, eight women. President Trump is calling for Iran to put a stop to the executions; the women have not all been identified, but at least one is said to be under arrest for being involved in anti-regime protests.
President Trump publicly implored Iran Tuesday to build goodwill with the United States by releasing eight women whom the Islamic regime reportedly is set to execute.
“To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!!”
Trump’s post cribbed from a message by American pro-Israel activist Eyal Yakoby, which claimed that Tehran was preparing to hang the octet.
While the post did not identify the women, it included a photo of Bita Hemmati, a protester arrested during anti-regime demonstrations in January.
Eyal Yakobi also released some details on who is reported to be one of the women to be executed; she is, according to Yakobi, only 16 years old.

Where is the outrage? pic.twitter.com/PJa4BLVmsf
There's plenty of outrage; just not on the part of the American left, those self-professed champions of women's rights, who have been strangely silent over this matter.

President Trump posted his plea to Iran, as he generally does, on his Truth Social account.

The president wrote:
To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP
Iran has already executed hundreds of people since the anti-regime protests started; estimates are that 300 were put to death this year in January alone. Over 50,000 people have been arrested for a crime we take for granted as a natural right here in the United States: petitioning the government for the redress of a grievance, that grievance being the government itself.
As of this writing, Iran has not replied to President Trump's request to free the eight women. Smart money says there will be no reply. These are not civilized people that the president is dealing with. And that's part of the difficulty in dealing with countries like Iran, or people like the ruling mullahs in that nation. It's hard for civilized people to comprehend barbarians. It's hard for good people to understand evil. It's hard to make deals with people who will lie to your face, agree to a peace deal, then go right back to their original, savage behavior.
It's not one world.
Editor's Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
