Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of President Donald Trump's historic resumption of his presidency, only the second president in our history to serve two non-sequential terms. Plenty of his actions in this first year have been ground-breaking as well, but in few places has his impact been felt more than in the matter of vicious gang members plaguing out nation's cities and towns. Many of these goblins are - or were - in the country illegally, and as of this writing, the administration has rounded up over 7,000 of the worst of the worst. A New York Post exclusive has the numbers.
One year into President Trump’s second term, DHS has arrested 7,000 illegal immigrant gang members, comprising a rogue’s gallery of murderers, kidnappers and thieves who have either already been removed from the country or are on their way out for good.
The milestone is the result of a lot of hard work by immigration agencies, and represents a massive departure from the Biden administration, whose open-border policies enabled millions of illegal migrants to flood into the country with virtually no safety checks in place.
“When we say we are targeting the worst of the worst, this is what exactly we mean,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
From the beginning, the administration promised that detention and repatriation efforts would focus first on known criminals, bad actors, and gang members, and that's what has happened. These are people who are accused of or have been convicted of serious crimes, either in their own country or in the United States, or both. Needless to say, these are people we do not want in our country, people for whom there is simply no place here, unless it's in a concrete cell where they are looking at steel bars from inside.

Here are just three examples:
Some of the “worst of the worst” gang members arrested by ICE in the last year, who entered the country illegally from all over the world, include:
- Vicente Paul Carreno-Aular, a criminal illegal immigrant from Venezuela and active Tren de Aragua gang member with a monstrous rap sheet including arrests for homicide, assault, cruelty towards child, domestic violence, and damage to property. He entered the US in 2022 and was turned loose by the Biden administration. ICE arrested him on February 28, 2025, and the Trump administration removed him on Sept. 12, 2025.
- Kevin Elenilson Avalos Diaz, a Salvadoran national and known associate of MS-13, previously convicted of homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, kidnapping and arrested for arson, battery, armed carjacking, and assault. He entered the country illegally in 2016 and was released into the country by the Obama administration. ICE arrested him on Jan. 8, 2026.
- Nester Fabian Londono, an illegal immigrant from Colombia and associate of the Latin Kings gang. He was previously convicted of homicide, voluntary manslaughter, smuggling heroin, and DUI. He was previously removed in 2011 and re-entered the US illegally at an unknown date and time. ICE arrested him on Dec. 5, 2025.
Every one of these goblins off the street represents one parent who won't lose a child. Every one of these goblins off the street represents a small store owner who won't get robbed. Every one of these goblins off the street represents one less illegal street takeover, one less human trafficker, one less fentanyl overdose, one less strong-arm takeover of an apartment building, one less hardened criminal preying on the public. On this first anniversary of the second term of President Trump, this is something we should celebrate.
This, yes, is what we voted for.
Editor’s Note: We voted for mass deportations, not mass amnesty. Help us continue to fight back against those trying to go against the will of the American people.
