Minnesota University Accused of Harboring Illegal Alien Predator

Jesus Saucedo-Portillo seems like a guy you wouldn't want hanging around your neighborhood or your kids' college campus. He's in the country illegally, for starters, but it gets worse than that; Saucedo-Portillo is a registered sex offender, with at least one conviction for driving while impaired. So, not exactly an Eagle Scout.

But when Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) tried to pick Saucedo-Portillo up on the campus of Augsburg University, a small private college in Minneapolis, where he was unaccountably taking classes despite being in the country illegally, a school administrator and - get this - campus security tried to stop them.

That's right. A school administrator and the campus security apparatus tried to stop the legal arrest of an illegal alien and convicted criminal.

On Monday night, DHS, responding to a local news report, said on X that ICE agents arrested Jesus Saucedo-Portillo, a criminal illegal alien and registered sex offender with a prior conviction for driving while impaired.

That arrest was hindered when a school administrator teamed up with campus security and attempted to prevent ICE agents from doing their job.

Saucedo-Portillo is an undergraduate student at Augsburg University in Minneapolis.

Not anymore, he isn't. Is it belaboring the obvious to note that this guy could have actually posed a danger to the students of Augsburg University?

"Our officers told the school Administrator and campus security that ICE had a warrant for the illegal alien's arrest. The school Administrator told ICE officers they were violating university policies," the statement said. "Our officers informed them that federal law supersedes any University policy and that if campus security would not stop blocking the law enforcement vehicle from exiting, they would be obstructing justice."

Despite the warning, the administrator refused to back down and ordered campus security to block the ICE vehicle, according to DHS.

"Our officers followed their training to use the minimum amount of force necessary to clear the area and successfully arrested this criminal illegal alien," the statement finished.

In an interview with Minnesota Public Radio, Augsburg President Paul Pribbenow corroborated that Saucedo-Portillo is a student and claimed that the arrest was "illegal" and that ICE did not have a warrant.

The officers were correct. ICE is under no obligation to give any consideration to the university's policies. Augsburg University can pass all the policies they like, they can define pi as 3 and insist that the stars are the lights of the heavens shining through holes in the celestial spheres for all they like, and that won't change the facts on the ground, that being that federal law that enables ICE to do their jobs supersedes anything they decree. The arrest wasn't illegal, just because this turbocharged son of a vacuum-cleaner salesman says so, in total disregard for the safety and well-being of his students.

You can't even parody these people. They are already beyond that.

Here's the thing: If this same, exact action were taken during, say, the Obama administration, it's a near-certainty that Paul Pribbenow wouldn't have offered a peep in reply. And the Obama administration was, to be fair, no slouch in kicking illegals out of our country. So, where were the leftist protests then? Where were the useful idiots setting fire to cars and waving Mexican flags?

This isn't about the illegal aliens. It's not about immigration law. It's about Trump Derangement Syndrome, pure and simple. If Kamala Harris had won the 2024 election, and we should be grateful every waking moment that she didn't, and if she had implemented this exact crackdown on illegal immigration, the left would have not only ignored it - they almost certainly would have celebrated it. Augsburg University would have handed this guy over on a silver platter.

Then, there's this:

Augsburg officials did not return multiple requests for comment.

You don't say.

Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
