Disclaimer: It's still really early to talk about the 2028 presidential elections. Three years is an eternity in politics, after all, and a lot could happen in the next 36 months.
But sometimes I just can't help myself. This is one of those times, as I note with no small amount of amusement, that a new poll indicates the presumptive front-runner for the 2028 Democrat nomination for president is still... yes, you guessed it. Kamala Harris.
Former vice president and 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris leads Democratic contenders for 2028, according to a new poll.
The Center Square Voters' Voice Poll, conducted by Noble Predictive Insights, surveyed 2,565 registered voters from Oct. 2-6, 2025, via opt-in online panel and text-to-web cell phone messages. Only those who identified as Democrat (948 of those surveyed) or Independent (199) were asked to choose who to among (sic) top Democratic contenders.
So the data in this is a couple of weeks old, and Kamala has embarrassed herself a few times since, mostly by engaging in her usual word salads while trying to sell her book, which reliable sources tell me is seeing sales numbers that have almost reached three digits. But then, look who she's beating out:
Of the eight Democratic names listed in the poll, Harris had the support of 33% of Democrats and 27% of Independents surveyed. California Gov. Gavin Newsom trailed with 13% support among Democrats and 3% among Independents. Seventeen percent of those surveyed indicated they weren’t sure who they’d pick if a Democratic primary were held that day.
New York U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez placed a distant third, netting 8% of both Democratic and Independent support, and former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg followed with 7% among both groups.
So Democrats hold Kamala above Governor Gavin Newsom, who destroyed San Francisco before moving on to destroy California. They hold her above AOC, that Bernie Sanders protege whose photograph appears in the dictionary next to the word "nut." Oh, and they hold her above Pete Buttigieg, who... what exactly did Pete Buttigieg do again?
I think this is what is known as "damning with faint praise."

Here's another interesting tidbit from the poll:
Harris cleanly swept nearly all demographic groups surveyed, polling strongest among Black, Southern and young voters. She captured 54% of Black support, 40% support of those who live in the South, 44% of those ages 18 to 29, and 42% of those ages 30 to 44. She was also twice as popular as Newsom with women and people with a household income under $50,000 (36% to his 18%).
None of this is surprising, as these are key Democrat constituencies. But we should note that, in the racially-tinged world of the American left, identity politics is a very real thing, and Kamala is the only black candidate in the primary - and yet only pulls 54 percent of the black vote in this survey? Of course, President Trump, in 2024, pulled a larger percentage of the black vote than any Republican since Reconstruction, and yet only managed 24 percent of black males. That's not encouraging for Kamala.
Still, this is entertaining. Kamala Harris was the worst presidential candidate since.. Well, ever. She is abrasive and annoying. Her laugh makes fingernails on a chalkboard sound by comparison like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on a particularly good day. She can't string together a coherent sentence if you spot her three verbs and a conjunction. And, honestly, she doesn't strike one as being all that bright.
And she's the Dems' top pick for 2028. Even now.
That right there is funny, and that's for sure and for certain.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
