Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro was on "The Breakfast Club" with Charlamagne tha God in a new interview that was released on Friday. It sounded like Shapiro was planning to run in the future for president and he wanted to clear the decks about his position on the debacle of Joe Biden's cognitive decline. He wants to position himself far away from the mess. He gave a brutal assessment both of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the process.
He revealed how he went to Biden when he was still the nominee and told him he was in trouble in Pennsylvania.
“I went directly to the president and spoke to him about what I saw were, you know, his challenges in Pennsylvania. I was really honest with him,” Shapiro said. “We got together at a coffee shop in Harrisburg. I think this has been reported. I mean, I’ll just share with you. He said, ‘How’s it going?’ I was very clear: ‘It’s not going well.'” [....]
“’Polls are showing it’s not going well,” he said. “I don’t think you’re handling the cost question. Back to what we talked about before with rising costs. It was a big theme in the campaign. Big issue in Pennsylvania. I didn’t think they were handling that well. I expressed that I thought people thought he wasn’t up to the job.”
Oof. But true. Knowing Joe Biden, you know that would not have gone over well.
When asked how this sobering assessment was received at the time, Shapiro replied, “I think he heard it. He told me that their poll numbers were different, and he seemed committed to continuing forward. And, listen, that’s his call.”
He also recalled arguing to Biden that part of his issue was that Biden’s team wasn’t straightforward with its own boss.
Whenever confronted and challenged like that, Biden tended to freak out and say the polls or the facts as he understood them were different. So this sounds just like Biden.
Shapiro also makes another point there that hasn't gotten enough attention - that Biden's own team wasn't straight with him about reality. That's part of the reason that they ended up with such a mess. That was a huge problem. They weren't straight with him and they weren't straight with us.
Our sister site Townhall also reported on what Shapiro said about Kamala Harris.
Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro, who endorsed Kamala Harris, says she knew Biden was unfit for office:

"If you're in the room, you're seeing things nobody else is seeing," he pointedly observed. "You got a responsibility to speak up, and she didn't."
So true, sounds like that's an early blow in the race for 2028. There was already a little back and forth with Harris taking a bit of a shot at him saying he seemed likely to want to be “in the room for every decision.” Notice how he said to Charlamagne if "you're in the room," about Harris being in the room with Biden. A little return fire?

Shapiro said he didn't believe in throwing people under the bus in response to Charlamagne saying, “anybody that wants to lead this party in the future has to throw that old regime under the bus.” But whether he believes he did or not, he effectively did with that assessment. What he said was brutal, but true.
You can see why Harris had to pick Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz - this guy would have made her look bad by being so much more coherent than her. But the problem is many Democrats didn't speak up, not just Kamala Harris. So not only should she never get a vote again, anyone else who didn't say anything when they should have, should also never hold public office again.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
