Back in the 1970s, the golden age of the TV cop drama, there was one show whose opening theme included the line, "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time." That's a lesson that some leftist nutcases would do well to contemplate today.
Case in point: Owen McIntire, a teenage "transgender" youth from Kansas City, was arrested after a March 17 arson attack on a Tesla dealership in which two Tesla Cybertrucks were set ablaze with Molotov cocktails. Now, it seems, young Owen McIntire may be facing some serious prison time for this violent attack.
Owen McIntire, 19, is staring down 30 years in prison for the March 17 Molotov cocktail attack on two of the EVs at a Tesla dealership in his native Kansas City.
Let's be real here; McIntire probably won't serve 30 years in the crowbars. Oh, he could; he very well could, and we can argue that he should, if for no other reason, to serve as a harsh warning to other leftist nutcases considering acts of violence.
One charge carries with it a mandatory five years in prison, and he could spend 30 years behind bars if found guilty on all counts. He'd be 49 on release if the maximum sentence was imposed.
McIntire's case was elevated to the Department of Justice's national security division after what Attorney General Pam Bondi described as a wave of domestic terrorism.
In announcing McIntire's arrest in April, Bondi said: 'Let me be extremely clear to anyone who still wants to firebomb a Tesla property: you will not evade us.
'You will be arrested. You will be prosecuted. You will spend decades behind bars. It is not worth it.'
It's not worth it, and Owen McIntire, who, from photos, doesn't appear to be very robust, in fact, his physique is distinctly David Hogg-like, won't find any prison time at all to be very pleasant. And some prison time is certainly in order. Arson is a serious matter, and carries the very real risk of causing not just property damage but human injury or death. It's only a matter of dumb luck that McIntire's fire-bombing only affected two Tesla vehicles and no people. But it does, to my thinking, show that McIntire seems to have a callous disregard for the safety of the people that may have been in that dealership; yes, the attack was late at night (11:15 PM) but having known people who have worked in car dealerships, I can say that it's unusual but not impossible for sales staff to still be in residence that late.

Here's the onion:
A judge granted his pre-trial release, after his attorneys told the court he was suffering 'serious and ongoing' medical needs.
He had started transgender treatments the month of the Tesla attack, which would have been interrupted or terminated while in custody, his attorneys said.
His lawyers claimed McIntire had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and depression.
And, there we are. It seems like McIntire's lawyers are shooting for an acquittal or at least a reduced sentence based on McIntire's clearly abnormal mental state. It also seems likely that they will play the "transgender" card again, as they made his apparent need for those damaging treatments, arguably brought on and possibly aggravated by the very "transgender" treatments he claims to require, in demanding a reduced sentence.
We will find out when his trial begins on August 11. Stay tuned.
