Why Are Democrats So Determined to Protect Violent Illegals?

Now for something completely different ... a video! I've started a video podcast using my old "Smart Girl Politics" brand, and I am thrilled to be able to share it with RedState's wonderful readers. In this first episode, I go in-depth on a story currently rocking Northern Virginia – a 19-year-old illegal from El Salvador has been arrested for groping at least nine teen girls at a local high school. He's in custody .. for now. Democrats, of course, want him back on the streets and in the school hallways to assault more victims.

Let's chat about it.

OVERVIEW:

To walk through the facts, I bounced off the reporting of the wonderful Nick Minock of WJLA, who has been all over this story. According to Minock’s reporting, the alleged assaults happened at Fairfax High School in Fairfax County and involved nine girls and roughly 12 reported incidents. These were not minor or accidental encounters. Parents say the suspect – a 19-year-old illegal who was a junior at the school – would allegedly come up behind girls in the hallways and put his hand between their legs. As a mother of three daughters, I wouldn't call that kids just being kids. I’d, in fact, call it molestation.

Parents say these kinds of incidents had been happening for months and that school administrators were made aware of the problem. Yet the response they got from Fairfax County Public Schools was, at least according to one mother, a “sanitized” letter that downplayed what happened rather than confront it head on. That alone is infuriating. If multiple girls are being targeted inside a school, parents shouldn't have to fight administrators just to get a simple warning sent out.

The accused, Israel Flores Ortiz, is is an illegal alien from El Salvador who crossed the southern border in 2024 and was released into the country under Biden-era policies. After his arrest last week, ICE issued a detainer seeking custody so he could be deported. But Fairfax County authorities have indicated they will not honor that detainer.

That brings us to one of the most outrageous parts of the case. On Friday, a judge denied Ortiz’s request for release, even though the office of the odious county prosecutor, Steve Descano, had agreed to the bail request. The judge, thankfully, found that the proposed conditions did not adequately protect the public. Descano’s office apparently saw no problem with putting an accused serial groper back on the street and back in the hallways of the school.

This is what happens when Soros prosecutors and sanctuary-style politicians like Abigail Spanberger take over. The safety of ordinary Americans, and in this case schoolgirls, gets pushed aside in favor of ideology. ICE even said Fairfax County’s refusal to cooperate creates “more American victims.” Once again, parents are left wondering why the people in charge didn’t act sooner and prioritize student safety.

And where are all the loudmouth liberal ladies who claim to care so deeply about girls and women? Where are the protests outside the school, the courthouse, the prosecutor’s office, or the jail? Their silence says a lot.

This is the reality of unchecked left-wing governance, and it's why we're talking so much about Virginia. Chaos is the goal and American families are expected to absorb the consequences. President Trump and ICE are trying to restore order, but local Democrats in places like Fairfax keep obnoxiously blocking the way.
