Let's end this long, terrible week with some good news: Despite a grand jury in Washington, D.C., declining to indict the dude who threw a perfectly good Subway sandwich at a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent patrolling the streets of the Nation's Capital, United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has decided he needs to face charges.
On Thursday, Pirro's office charged Sean Dunn with misdemeanor assault, one day after the D.C. grand jury decided that charges of assault on a federal officer, all of which was caught on video, weren't warranted. RedState's streiff had all the details of the grand jury's failure to indict Dunn, and he noted, "This case appears to be the beginning of a trend rather than a standalone incident." More on that in a moment.

Let's rewind a bit and revisit what Dunn was caught on camera doing. Dunn could be seen taunting a group of federal law enforcement officers, yelling drunkenly at them before walking away, only to return to launch his freshly-bought salami sub at the CBP agents. At one point, Dunn could be heard screaming at the officers, "F**k you! You f**king fascists! Why are you here? I don't want you in my city!"
Here's Mr. Dunn in all his tight-shorts, pink-shirt glory:

He's your typical low-T leftist dude, who thinks he owns the D.C. streets and can say or do anything he pleases without any consequences. And that's how it was until the Trump administration moved back into town. Dunn was immediately fired from his job at the Department of Justice, although, at least for a day, it looked like he'd avoid facing criminal charges.
Then Jeanine Pirro stepped in.

Here's what the charging document says:
The United States Attorney charges that: On or about August 10, 2025, within the District of Columbia, SEAN CHARLES DUNN, did forcibly assault, resist, oppose, impede, intimidate, and interfere with, an officer and employee of the United States, and of any branch of the United States Government (including any member of the uniformed services), that is, G.L., an agent with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, while such person was engaged in and on account of the performance of official duties.
As streiff previously noted, there seems to be a disturbing trend developing of not only unhinged leftists assaulting government officials on the streets of D.C., but also of them not facing criminal charges. A charming woman by the name of Sidney Lori Reid had her felony assault charges dropped earlier this week after she "forcibly assaulted, impeded or interfered with federal agents" as they took two alleged gang members into custody at a D.C. jail. Three federal grand juries declined to indict Reid.

And, seriously, what is going on with these leftists? D.C. resident Emily Gabriella Sommer recently pleaded guilty to assault charges after she was caught on camera spitting on then-acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin. So gross.
Just last week, another low-T Dem dude, Scott Pichon, was arrested after he was caught on video spitting on two guardsmen from the South Carolina National Guard who were on duty at Union Station; once he did the vile deed, Pichon sped away on his scooter. He has now been charged with a felony.
Pirro's office was reportedly able to charge Dunn through a "criminal information," which does not require the approval of a D.C. grand jury. We're likely to see a lot more of this if D.C. grand juries won't do their jobs and indict the crazies.
Editor's Note: The days of lawlessness in Washington, D.C. are over. Thanks to President Trump, our nation's capital will be SAFE once again.
