Earlier today, Dr. Deborah Birx, a prominent member of the White House Chinese Lung AIDS Task Force, was a guest on NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd. Todd, you’ll recall, is the no-talent political hack who has wormed his way into a media gig (in fairness to Todd, it is getting increasingly hard to find a prominent newscaster who has not worked for a Democrat politician in the past) and who is rumored to be on the verge of defenestration by NBC in favor of Nicolle Wallace.
Birx was upset that, for reasons she can’t seem to understand, no one wants any of the crap she’s peddling.

CHUCK TODD:
I don’t mean to belabor this point. And I understand your frustration, probably, as a public health official being asked about what is happening on the political side of things. But the fact of the matter is, we’ve been through this for eight months now, and you have given us all these warnings. And, again, the president and others in the administration just flout them. And so do you understand why some of the public then say, “Well, if he doesn’t think it’s a big deal I guess maybe the health — maybe he thinks all the health people, they’re overdoing it. They’re overselling it.”
DR. DEBORAH BIRX:
You know, I’ve heard that personally. When I go out I just don’t meet with healthcare providers and governors and mayors. But I also meet with community. And so I hear community members parroting back those situations. Parroting back that masks don’t work. Parroting back that we should work towards herd immunity. Parroting back that gatherings don’t result in superspreading events. And I think our job is to constantly say, “Those are myths, they are wrong and you can see the evidence base.” And right now across the Sun Belt, we have governors and mayors who have cases equivalent to what they had in the summertime yet aren’t putting in the same policies and mitigations that they put in the summer that they know changed the course of this pandemic across the south. So it is frustrating because not only do we know what works, governors and mayors used those tools to stem the tide in the spring and the summer. And this fall/winter surge is combining everything that we saw in the spring with everything that we saw in the summer, plus the fall surge going into a winter surge. And I think that’s why Dr. Redfield made this absolute appeal to the American people. This is not just the worst public health event. This is the worst event that this country will face, not just from a public health side. Yet, we know what behaviors spread the virus and we know how to change those behaviors to stop spreading the virus.
Let’s deconstruct this.
Masks don’t work… or if they do work, their effect is so small as to avoid measurement. To date, there have been no large-scale studies conducted under anything like scientific rigor that show masks to work. People “claim” they work, and they say you are a very, very bad person for not wearing them, but their sole use is as a means of virtue signaling by the left and the timid. In fact, in situations where we have enough evidence to draw inferences, we find no difference between jurisdictions with hardcore gotta-wear-a-face-diaper regulations and states that still realize that their citizens are just that and not serfs and not cattle. Consider:
The Top 10 counties in the US by population had all mandated masks by June 19th, nearly 6 months ago
On that date, the 7-day avg. of cases in those counties was 120 per million. On 12/3, it was 476, a 297% increase

Kansas expanded their mask mandate on November 25th, after cases had already peaked, so look forward to another CDC study on how they worked there. Again.
They will, of course, ignore that Kansas has followed the same curve (& done worse!) than neighboring states with no mandate pic.twitter.com/p1AoauJ0H0

And right now across the Sun Belt, we have governors and mayors who have cases equivalent to what they had in the summertime yet aren’t putting in the same policies and mitigations that they put in the summer that they know changed the course of this pandemic across the south.
The best one can say about this claim is that she is simply ignorant of the data. Given other things she has said, I’m open to that interpretation. The fact is that nothing has worked. The rates of spread in fascist states are basically the same as that in free states. Look at New York, whose governor spent most of the spring wearing brown trousers because of his unmanly state of perpetual panic, but who Dr. Anthony “Mask-No-Good-Mask-Good-School-Open-School-Closed” Fauci said, with no evidence, “did everything right.”
New York was held up by our top expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, as a state that did it “correctly”, with masks, closures, science, etc
I have not heard any comments from him on what’s happened since pic.twitter.com/n735qsQ4Qu

Parroting back that gatherings don’t result in superspreading events.
Based on data, the myth is actually that such a thing as a “superspreading event” even exists.
Case in point, the huge festival in Sturgis, SD, in August.
There were no face masks and no social distancing at a time when Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer, and Phil Murphy were squirting like a goose in terror. How did that turn out? There was a ridiculous model pushed out by ridiculous modelers that the gathering led to 260,000 cases. Despite it being obvious bullsh** it was relentlessly fluffed by the media. But what really happened? Out of an estimated 460,000 attendees, there were a verified 414 cases and one death. The death was a Minnesota man in his 60s with several co-morbidities.
Let’s look at the Trump campaign rallies, which the media derided as “superspreader events.” Any real evidence of that? No. Do you think no one in the media or among the progressive stooges who dominate the title of “public health expert” tried to find such a link? Of course, they did. You haven’t heard about it because it doesn’t exist.
This is not just the worst public health event. This is the worst event that this country will face, not just from a public health side.
This is not bonkers. This is batsh** crazy. The only reason that this virus has had this impact is that we have listened to high-functioning morons like Birx and Fauci and Redfield and sacrificed not only our economy but actual lives trying to stamp out a will-o-the-wisp threat that has proven that it spreads at pretty much the same rate no matter what you do. It has a mortality rate that does not merit the damage done trying to stop it (see New Study Indicates That Surviving the Virus as 99+% Do Gives You Long Term Immunity). But the idea that this is “the worst event” that the United States will face, given that we may be on the cusp of a Joe Biden presidency, is so stupid as to be beneath contempt.
Yet, we know what behaviors spread the virus and we know how to change those behaviors to stop spreading the virus.
Actually, there is no evidence that indicates Birx, and her colleagues know their ass from a hot rock (see Are We in Danger From Wuhan Virus or Are We Sheep Being Led by Idiots Instead of Experts) when it comes to knowing much about the virus or how to stop it. If either of those propositions were true, there would not be weekly changes to their diktat, and the spread of the virus would have stopped. (READ More New Research Shows Only Those With Symptoms Spread COVID-19. Masks School Closings & Lockdowns Couldn’t Have Been More Pointless.)
This is what is true.
We are rats in the Skinner box managed by Birx and her pals. We are mold growing in their Petrie dish. They don’t care about us. They don’t care about the country. They have two overarching objectives. First, there is attention-whoring. It has to be quite a rush for Fauci & Friends to listen to Jake Tapper beg them pretty-please to allow the proles to have Christmas this year (read Anthony Fauci Declares That Christmas May Be Canceled Because He Needs to Control What You Do and STOP IT: CNN Anchor Jake Tapper Asks if CHRISTmas Is Possible This Year.) And you can tell by their reaction when they are contradicted that this is much more an exercise of ego than competing scientific opinions, see Dr. Fauci Melts Down Again, Attacks Scott Atlas and Predicts Doom.
The real agenda is control. These people want to tell you what to do and when to do it for no greater reason than they have acquired a taste for power as surely as a tiger can acquire a taste for human blood (see Dr. Anthony Fauci Says It Is Time for Americans to Shut the Hell up and Do What Their Betters Tell Them to Do). Their objective is to use public health emergencies to radically change the way we live and interact. They are already talking about the necessity of keeping mask mandates in place indefinitely (Insane: Dr. Fauci Wants a National Mask Mandate and Something Much, Much Worse). They will try to make the Wuhan virus vaccine mandatory. I will go out on a limb and predict that there will be an effort to make proof of vaccination required to be allowed to work or attend school or go to a movie or restaurant.
Birx is upset because people she holds in absolute and total contempt, that would be We, the People, have decided that enough is enough. That f*** that noise. That we are tired of being ordered about by would-be despots and our patience with their overbearing sense of self-importance is coming to an end.
