Thursday was an interesting day in the courts:
- ✅ Shapiro v. USDA (termination of federal grants)— Judge Joseph Saporito Jr. (Middle District of Pennsylvania) GRANTS admin's motion to dismiss.
- ✅ D.C. v. Trump (National Guard deployment) — D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals GRANTS admin's request for administrative (temporary) stay.
- ❌ AFGE v. OMB (shutdown layoffs) — Judge Susan Illston (Northern District of California) GRANTS plaintiffs' motion for TRO.
Of course, the biggest news (and a definite ✅) was the Supreme Court's ruling granting Texas' application for stay in the redistricting case.

MORNING MUSING
Over and over again, we see the Left choosing causes and heroes that defy logic and sanity. It's pretty clear why. As our sister site, Twitchy, highlights in this article, it's all about the Orange Man. It's about opposing him at every turn in every way, no matter what — even if it means embracing criminals, unfettered immigration, terrorists (narco or garden variety).
We often discuss Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), but I'm also reminded of Oppositional Defiant Disorder, which is defined thusly:
Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) is a behavior disorder in which a child displays a pattern of an angry or cranky mood, defiant or combative behavior, and vindictiveness toward people in authority.
Symptoms can include:
- Frequent temper tantrums
- Excessive arguing with adults
- Often questioning rules
- Active defiance and refusal to comply with adult requests and rules
- Deliberate attempts to annoy or upset people
- Blaming others for his or her mistakes or misbehavior
- Often being touchy or easily annoyed by others
- Frequent anger and resentment
- Mean and hateful talking when upset
- Spiteful attitude and revenge seeking
Sound familiar?
There was a time when I assumed that once Donald Trump rides off into the sunset, those afflicted with these disorders might simmer down, but I'm slowly realizing they're most likely just going to shift their ire to whoever comes after him.
