Watch: Democrat Senator Hilariously Own-Goals His Party With Criticism of DOJ Pipe Bomb Case Arrest

You know, we've all seen some pretty wild spin from elected officials over the years, but when a Democrat own-goals his party and in the process makes the point Republicans are trying to, well, that's just chef's kiss in my book.

When last we left you, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) seemed to be once again adding his voice to the Seditious Six's chorus in making some pretty disturbing comments that hinted he was in favor of a military coup of sorts against President Donald Trump.

The context of his remarks centered around the media/Dem-driven drug boat controversy. Warner, who is the Vice Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, stated in response that "I think in many ways, the uniformed military may help save us from this president and his lame people like Hegseth." He did not elaborate on what the "how" part of "saving us" might entail.

On Thursday, Warner was again being interviewed, this time about the great news announced earlier by the DOJ regarding the arrest made in the J6 pipe bomb case. Though he said it was "good news," Warner stated that he didn't understand why a "victory lap" was being taken, and wondered out loud if it could have been solved sooner had the Trump administration not allegedly "diverted" federal resources to combat illegal immigration:

But I got to tell you, it kind of makes me — looking at this crowd, doing a victory lap, when all the senior FBI officials across all key divisions have been fired for political purposes, when in some field offices, up to 45% of the FBI officers who were doing things like counter espionage and cyber have been assigned to do immigration cases.
It’s a little rich that they’re saying they [make] America safer. How much earlier could we have caught this guy if resources hadn’t been diverted?

Republican Rep. Tim Burchett (TN-02) was like many in wondering if Warner stopped to consider the fact that the Biden-Harris administration had four years to investigate it (assuming that was even done) before Trump took office for his second term:

Further, maybe the "investigation" that allegedly occurred under Biden's watch would have been more fruitful and led to an arrest had the DOJ and FBI not been so preoccupied with prosecuting pro-lifers and targeting concerned parents at school board meetings, for starters. Talk about diverting resources!

Warner's accidental admission that the Biden "investigation" into the case was a miserable failure just goes even more to the point made by FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, who noted during the press conference announcing the arrest that this was what happened when you had a president who made law and order and catching the bad guys a priority:

“Folks, this is what it’s like when you work for a president who tells you to get the bad guys and to stop focusing on other extraneous things not related to law enforcement. This is what happens.”
“We had a great team. [...] It was not a new public tip this came from. This was our own internal work at the FBI.”
