Embarrassing: Harris Campaign's Attempt to Use Popular Streamers to Astroturf Support Backfires
Mark my words, this is going to cause a domino effect and more streamers and influencers will come forward to say they were approached by the Harris campaign and that they turned her down.
Kamala Goes Babbling in Philly With Tim Walz, Opens Mouth and Inserts Foot
This is going to be great fun, with all the ads they'll be able to do on the weirdness, the bad statements, and the bad policy.
The more we find out, the more disturbing it becomes.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
More summer snoozing. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is predicting GOP success in November's elections following Vice President Kamala Harris' selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) are pushing for federal regulation of lethal injection drugs. Oh — and Cori Bush (D-MO) will need to start packing up her office when she returns to the Hill...
White House What's Up
Zip. Zilch. Nada. Press briefing in the afternoon with KJP. The president has essentially disappeared.
The Homestretch
Fresh off naming Walz, Harris will be campaigning with him in Michigan and Wisconsin on Wednesday.
Former President Donald Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance (OH) will also be putting in an appearance in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
MORNING MUSING
There's a popular saying surrounding elections: "Every vote counts." It's one of those truisms that we sort of nod along with while quietly waving off because we know that usually, elections are won or lost by thousands of votes. That, of course, depends on the nature of the race and the number of eligible voters in a given constituency. Tuesday, Missouri held its congressional, statewide, and local primaries. There were some surprises, some disappointments, some gratifying outcomes. But one race caught my attention for the fact that the winner secured her victory by...one vote.
