Lamestream Media Hit Pieces Against Alligator Alcatraz Ramp Up, and DHS Just Debunked a Big One

As I've often said, the mainstream media are nothing if not a predictable lot, and that has absolutely been the case in response to Alligator Alcatraz, a temporary detention center located in the Florida Everglades where illegal immigrants are processed before deportation to their home countries.

The Usual Suspects are of course lined up to oppose it, with Democrats, illegal immigration advocates, environmental wacktivists, and the MSM all alleging, in a nutshell, the center is "inhumane" (and not very good for the envirnoment!) even though it has beds, air conditioning, and other essential amenities, unlike some of the temporary centers set up during the Biden administration.

Already, we're reading about unconfirmed reports of, among other things, mosquitoes "the size of elephants" and food that allegedly contains maggots.

Not surprisingly, the left-wing media apparatus in Florida is on the case, frantically searching for detainee "victims" whom they think they can use to drum up opposition to the facility and sympathy for the illegal immigrants.

The Miami Herald, the leading anti-Ron DeSantis newspaper in the Sunshine State, and which fancies itself as a mouthpiece for leftist causes, is leading the way, alleging that conditions there supposedly warranted "hospitalization" of some detainees and that at other points, it was "freezing" -- in southern Florida... in the middle of the summer:

Firstly, let's get the sourcing for this story out of the way:

Right. Totally reliable, no concerns about anything maybe possibly being a little (or a lot) embellished by the spouses of those in federal custody and who are getting ready to get a plane ticket to another country.

Secondly, according to DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin, no detainees have been "hospitalized." One went to a local hospital and was back in around an hour and a half:

Thirdly, DHS maintains that "ICE has higher standards than most prisons that hold actual U.S. citizens." Further, they say that "detainees are given proper meals, medical treatment, and communication with lawyers and families":

And finally, this is the Miami Herald here, which pinned its desperate hopes of bringing down Gov. DeSantis ahead of the 2022 gubernatorial election on thoroughly disgraced fraudster Rebekah Jones. Best take anything they "report" with a few grains of salt.
