DHS Zaps Nadler As War of Words Over ICE Immigration Sweeps Continues

As we've reported, Democrats have tried pulling one stunt after another in response to ICE immigration sweeps, from showing up at detention facilities to try and obstruct federal law enforcement officials from doing their jobs to aggressively interrupting DHS press conferences like unhinged agitators.

There also, of course, were the visits some Congressional Democrats made to El Salvador on behalf of illegal immigrant, suspected human smuggler, and alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, with Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) seen in pictures that indicated both of them had enjoyed margaritas during their pow wow.

The most recent ones have primarily revolved around New York Democrats like Reps. Dan Goldman and Jerry Nadler, both of whom utterly beclowned themselves on Wednesday by proclaiming they had a "right" to inspect an ICE processing center in the Big Apple, only to be shut down by ICE Deputy Field Director Bill Joyce.

Nadler and Goldman, unfortunately, are at it again, with Nadler alleging during a press conference that ICE agents must be hiding something since they are wearing masks and allegedly failing to identify themselves:

"But these people are wearing masks, and are totally unidentified. The only question is why. It's completely improper. And again, one has to assume they're hiding something or they're hiding misbehavior because otherwise, why would they be wearing masks and denying their identities?"

Once again, DHS swooped in to set the record straight:

Congressman Nadler’s accusation that our ICE officers are “hiding misbehavior” is DESPICABLE. ICE officers are now facing a 500% increase in assaults due to this rhetoric.
When the brave men and women of ICE conduct operations, they clearly identify themselves as law enforcement officers while wearing masks to protect themselves from being targeted by violent criminals.

If Democrats think this is a winning issue for them, they are wrong, as recent polling shows that even 25 percent of voters who voted for Vice President Kamala Harris support President Trump's policies on illegal immigration, as my colleague Katie Jerkovich wrote about Thursday, sharing this tweet:
