JD Vance Finishes Gavin Newsom After Governor Needles Him on LA Riots Response in Possible 2028 Preview

Though we're less than three years away from 2028, prospective Democrat candidates have been busy trying to elevate themselves on a national level, with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) among those doing mini-tours of sorts warning of the supposedly dangerous nature of President Trump and how he and the GOP need to be stopped.

While both Walz and Buttigieg are failed vice presidential and presidential candidates, respectively, and presumably would be viewed as longshots, AOC is even further to the left of your typical Democrat presidential nominee, and as a result, convincing Democrats in the 2028 primaries to elevate her to nominee status might be too tall an order in a "we need to nominate someone who can WIN!" scenario.

Then there's California Gov. Gavin Newsom, whose inflated opinion of himself is second only to the inflated opinion his extensive hair gel collection has of itself. Newsom has been setting the stage for a presidential run since roughly 2022, when he undoubtedly figured out (but kept publicly denying it) midway through the Biden-Harris era that Joe Biden shouldn't run for a second term.

And as the Los Angeles riots continue to simmer, Newsom is once again trying to prove he's some sort of competent leader in the midst of a crisis after previous efforts (the Palisades wildfires and his overseas trips during the Biden years, for instance) falling embarrassingly well short of what a leader should look like. Case in point:

Unfortunately, this effort is failing as well as Newsom seems hellbent on playing word games, lying, and crossing swords on social media rather than displaying actual leadership qualities. This is something that caught the attention of Vice President JD Vance, who responded to Newsom whining about Trump half-jokingly "calling for" his arrest (after Newsom dared the Trump administration to do so) by simply advising him to "Do your job. That’s all we’re asking."

Newsom's response was to proclaim, "Do YOUR job. We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved. Rescind the order. Return control to California."

Vance fired back accordingly in a possible preview of what the 2028 general election campaign season may look like:

Newsom and his stooge Karen Bass fomented and encouraged the riots, because their entire political movement exists for one purpose: to promote mass migration into our country. It is their reason for being. Democratic leadership has no solution for the economy, for prosperity, or for security. They use their power when they're in the majority to import millions of illegal immigrants and when they're in opposition they do everything possible to prevent deportations.
Under Newsom's leadership, medicaid was extended to all illegal immigrants in 2024. This means that he elected to take healthcare from impoverished and disabled Californians and give it to illegal aliens. And now, everything is President Trump's fault? Give me a break.
If you want to know why illegal aliens flocked to your state, stop accusing Donald Trump. Look in the mirror.
If you want to know why border patrol fear for their lives over enforcing the law, look in the mirror.
It was your policies that encouraged mass migration into California. Your policies that protected those migrants from common sense law enforcement. Your policies that offered massive welfare benefits to reward illegal immigrants. Your policies that allowed those illegal migrants (and their sympathizers) to assault our law enforcement. Your policies that allowed Los Angeles to turn into a war zone.
You sure as hell had a problem before President Trump came along.
The problem is YOU.
